Okay, not much point in arguing with someone that things training camp, summer league, and 3 minutes of NBA play is somehow superior to several years/championships in the Euroleague, along with experience playing against Yao/Dwight in the Olympics. Also not much point arguing against someone who thinks Scola's success is solely based on the performance of Yao/McGrady. I assume you think Scola did terrible during their absence? Actually, don't even respond. I don't care what you think.
Yeah it makes no sense in arguing with a person like me. I agree. Btw. Lets see If you want to bring up the idea of him playing possibly 1 or 2 games against Yao/Dwight in the Euroleague i just want to let you know Dorsey has guarded Yao in practices and Training camp. LOL at you if you don't think training camp and summer league doesn't help guys develop. What was the NBA thinking about adding that. IDK if its people like you who get excited over what a person has done overseas and automatically think he is going to have that same success in the NBA. But you are wrong. I'm Sorry. For all of that people like Oberto would shine because he has championship experience or whatever you want to call it. I rest my case. We all will see once Fall comes around.
I don't think anybody's expecting Andersen to be a stud out there. Hopefully he'll be more useful to this team than Joey Dorsey has been. Hell, I hope Joey Dorsey will be more useful to this team than Joey Dorsey has been. And I doubt Andersen was saying he plays as well as KG and Dirk, so no need to blow the statement out of proportion.
If you're talking about the babies, it'd be funnier if eTrade hadn't been doing it for months with their current commercials.
Speak for yourself DoD. Not only was I totally un-facetious, I don't even know what that word means. David Andersen will have the 3 point range of a sweet shooting German, and the athletic ability to guard all 5 positions. Don't be surprised if you see him running the point from time to time, just to help out with the ball handling. By the end of the season, after we win our 3rd championship, you will hear his victory roar: "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!111"
I worry about Andersen lasting through an 82 game season. Not very optimistic about J Dorsey being much help either. Do we have a Trade exception ?
true... I love the eTrade commercials, this one just caught me off guard coming from the Rockets organization... their best add in awhile imo
San Antonio had trouble bringing him over because of his contract. I'm not a fan of JCF's interviews. He tends to put words into his interviewees' mouths and they just seem to drag.
What would you expect from a guy who is injured?? How can someone be useful if they are injured?? Mind me its his 1st year. No mid 2nd round pick is going to kill their 1st year. Basically what im saying is I guarantee that Dorsey will have a better season this year then MR. Andersen.
wow really? JCF is anything has brought more unique content and candid interviews over the past year on rockets.com than their previous beat writer (damien pierce) I actually prefer JCF's interviews and pieces because he is usually unbiased and honest with his analysis. I havent seen this interview yet (no speakers at work) will do so when i get home but I would be surprised if that was the case. You have to also factor in that these are average players he is interviewing NOT all-stars/superstars who are usually coached on how to conduct an interview so a lot of times he has to carry the interview along and direct questions in a certain way
Why would you guarantee that? Also how is it you just decided that Dorsey was even gonna play at all? There has been no indication that he is a part of the Rockets plans except that Yao is hurt and Deke is gone so they may be forced to plug him in. I wouldn't mind if Dorsey steps up and plays hard and has a great year because i want to see my team do well but I do not believe that will happen.
You honestly think injuries are the only thing that kept Dorsey out? He didn't really show squat in the pre-season games he played. Read this article to get an idea about the problems in his game from last year he needed to work on : http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2009/07/joey_dorsey_welcome_to_the_nba.html Especially the line, The Rockets will not plan on getting much from him next season, not yet. He showed so little as a rookie, a solid few off-season months and good summer league showing will not move him up in their estimation to the point that he is in their plans. I'm also guessing Joey suffers a bit from Stromile Swift Syndrome. Athletic freak with little basketball smarts. We'll see, though. Who knows, Joey could get some time and it could be a battle with Andersen for starting minutes. Somehow I think Andersen is light-years ahead of him offensively and defensively, I have no idea.
I'm hoping for the Rockets sake that David Andersen will prove some of you doubters wrong. Yeah he hasn't played in a NBA game yet but at least he's not a scrub from overseas, he's had a lot of success. Personally I think he won't have an immediate impact but I think he will eventually adapt to the NBA game and prove to be useful for the team.
I would say if Andersen can give us 10/4 a night and Dorsey/Hayes can give us 4/10 at the center position we will be alright. On the plus side, with a season under their belts for Andersen and Dorsey we could be pretty deep at the center position come 2010 when Yao is back.
