For some reason i think Sloan (aka. the PnR master) will adjust. But yao will probably know cause Sloan is like JVG, hes old fashioned and rarely changes his game plan.

do you guys get the same feeling about the rockets preparing for the series as when you are studying for an exam?

i'm getting those same butterflies in my stomach right now:
"What other plays have the rockets missed?"
"what was that organic chemistry mechanism, SN2?"
"What will be the jazz's defensive strategy when Tmac drives left, drives right?"
"How do you balance that thermo equation?"
"If only I had 2 more days to study..."

    man i'm freaking nervous...

Lol I doubt JVG will miss any plays unless the Jazz just spontaneously come up with a play. And that mechanism is SN1... to many branches for SN2. Jazz has no defense for T-mac. Their plan for this is tripping him and hopping to get away with it. Damn you got thermodynamics and substitution reactions on the same test???

Another interview from sina.com on Yao Ming right after today's team practice on his preparation and feeling of the playoff.

Great interviews, Yao practically guaranteeing a win over the Jazz at the end there...I am so pumped up it ain't even funny. Believe it or not Yao, I am losing some sleep over this thing too.

On a sidenote, someone needs to take Yao to the side and coach him on issues of cultural sensitivity. Saying something like, "Very few Caucasian player is as physical as Matt Harping" is not acceptable in America, because it generalizes an entire race as 'soft'. Yao should be mindful that some of his critics fell into the same trap and generalized him as 'soft' because he's Chinese.

Yao is a great guy, I know he meant no harm, but he must be mindful not to fall into that trap...just keep race/ethnicity out of it.

With that said, I have no doubt Big Yaozilla will deliver on his promise to beat the Jazz.

    GO ROCKETS!

I don't think anything was wrong with him saying that, he just said Harping is a lot more physical than the other Caucasian players in the nba base on his experience, which I bet is true. No offense but there aren't many caucasian body bangers but a lot of shooters like korver, heinrich, morrison, novak, etc.

anywho I love how Yao is so confident, and when he is confident, no one can f**king stop him!!!! lol I'm just counting down the hours now until gametime :(

It isn't fake it was just an interview done in his native language which he is obviously more familiar with so he is going to be more candid and more descriptive than he is when doing an interview in English.

One thing that's incredibly obvious is just how comfortable and witty Yao comes across when he's interviewed in his native language. Although we're starting to see some indication of that in his English-language interviews, it's still not there and likely will never be.

Yao always has a lot more 'swagger' and exudes confidence in his interviews with the Chinese media. It's not the first time that we see that and it's been pretty much the trend in most of his dealings with the media. He just opens up a lot more to the Chinese media and he's a lot more comfortable in expressing himself. It's obvious he has a great sense of humor, I can only hope we see more of that moving forward...
