Please tell me you're are just kidding about being pro-segregation. Nice phot of Selma and Ed. The person I was surprised to see in an interracial relationship was Roger Ebert.
Don't mean to snub you but, as I understand it, you're not yet actually married so I left you (and a couple others) off the list. Don't worry though, it's not like we're the in-crowd or anything. I thought expanding to fiancees and girlfriends would get too big. Besides, there is such finality to being married -- even when it isn't final. Anyway, I was just noticing that I like reading everyone in the list (and Lil Pun too ) and I get the feeling there is some common thread here. Of course, there are people who've precluded themselves from the list I also like to read. Maybe the telling list is those people I'm not surprised to see are not in an interracial marriage -- if that says anything. Anyway, I'm just rambling now and you probably should have stopped reading this post a paragraph ago. Edit: Lil Pun, since you are mixed yourself, you probably can't much help being in an interracial marriage once you get married. So, you can have honorary status, I guess.
Marriages come and go, but jointly-held mortgages are forever. That's when it felt permanent to me anyway.
Honorary status huh? King Lil Pun sounds good to me. You're right though, I didn't know you were just including the married-only couples but that's cool. Who I would really like to hear from are the people that voted segregation should still be legal and hear what argument they have that it should because it better be a damn good argument.
Culture and belief system is a whole lot more important than race, when it comes to marriage. Post #2000, yay!
I guees if you ask yo shall receive. No I'm not talking about the pictures of nice looking women, but the vote for "friends and family". I said I was surprised that no one had voted on that selection yet then I turn up here and BAM! someone voted for it. For the most part it seems that most of the people that have taken the time to vote on this subject feel that they do not care about interracial dating and many are already involved interracially with another. I'm still waiting to hear an argument for somebody who voted for segregation because I don't think there is a valid, logical, hell even a remotely good point you could make that would justify it. So what are you afraid of? Come on out and give me a reason why segregation should still be legal!
It is my hope that within a few generations the whole world will be full of mocha colored people with great math skills and excellent hops.
Lil Pun, I think it's safe to say that all 9 of those "pro segregationists" just voted for it because it was the most radical response. I think it is fairly safe to say that on a Rockets BBS, most, if not all of the posters are against segregation. I simply picked it because I like to vote for the stupid option sometimes...
So you picked the segregation vote as a joke? Well I respect your right to do that. The reason I start threads/polls like this is to get a feel of how the majority of the BBS feels on a subject. It seems that the majority of people on this board do not reject the idea of interracial relationships among people. I sort of expected people to vote on that as a joke but I do doubt however that all nine votes were jokes and that is who I am calling out. The people who really think segregation should still be legal because like I said I want to hear the argument.
Sounds like the Warren Beaty movie Bullworth... The only way to end racism is for "everybody to f**k each other until we're all one color."
