You guys just won't see past your biases. Yes, Microsoft is a hated company, but the i.e. 8 is the best browser and it isn't even close in my opinion. Firefox was terrible after 3.0 came out.
I am not trying to flame people, but this thread was hijacked by all of the firefox users. It is just as rude to start posting firefox addon suggestions in a thread which was supposed to be dedicated to i.e.8. Wouldn't you agree?
pr0n mode = incognito mode, where you browse the internet without showing up in history IE8 has it too. For the record that I don't hate Microsoft , but Chrome has the potential to be the best web browser out there.
damn I thought it was somewhere where female p*rn stars appear on your browser and point you in the right direction
I agree with that. But, I bet you most people on this board probably use something either than I.E. 8, that's probably why it's being hijacked.
i hate to admit it, but i'm going to have to agree. while it still renders pages truer to the WC3 standards than I.E., the start up time is painfully slow. once it's cached it's okay.
This thread explains a few things Been using Firefox recently and it is using like 200 MBs of my memory I have IE7 . .. but it is similar I have avioded IE8 because the beta was such garbage [I work helpdesk and it was killing a bunch of our users] So I was waiting for it to stable out then I will try it Rocket River
I pretty much use IE 7 alone except when I'm on my MacBook - on there I use Firefox. I don't use any add-ons. I use IE 8 on the old laptop I just installed Windows 7 on. They all work for me... I prefer using IE because the majority of companies are going to make sure their crap works first on IE, then Firefox, then whatever else they may have time to get to testing if they want to get to it.
No fans of FF 3.5 beta? I think it's way better than 3.0, and it also has a private browsing feature.
I have Chrome, FF, and IE8. Chrome is definitely the fastest, especially with java apps. FF has gotten slower and less stable with 3.0, hopefully it improves with 3.5 (haven't tried the beta). IE8 is a major improvement and actually a usable browser now , but it doesn't have the extension support of FF or the speed of Chrome. I just keep it around for computability reasons. I mostly just stick with Chrome now, even though I miss my FF extensions.
I'm not a fan of Microsoft, but I use Outlook, Word, Excel, and Frontpage almost daily. I also used to do pc support. But, IE is terrible. Firefox is awesome. The only problem with it is that it loads slowly. But, since I hardly ever turn off my computer, it's not an issue for me. The security risks are exponentially greater using IE vs Firefox.
I will say that it appears IE8 is blocking some early versions of that Antivirus XP crap. So that's a plus. For as long as it lasts anyway....
I just downloaded the new Firefox (or whatever the latest one is) and it keeps crashing. I'm going to Oldversion.com and going to download an previous version of FF. I liked Netscape since it is made from the same Mozilla technology, although they don't make any new support for it.
