They're great for homes but suffer from too much interference with apartments. You'll get patches of interference with microwave ovens, but I think the later versions have bigger bandwidth that it's not noticable.

Need to confirm with other sauces.

I'm not sure about that specific model/brand, but ethernet powerline adapters do work. I used it for a IPTV receiver a while back.

Just wanted to thank you for this tip! I had a TP Link Wireless Router I had connected to my SB6183 modem. The TP Link was dual-band, but both the range on the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz wouldn't even reach my bedroom from my office. Also, I coudn't configure it have Wi-Fi calling on my T-Mobile cell phone (my cell signal is horrid in my area with T-Mobile).

I took your tip and called T-Mobile for the Asus Cellspot WiFi router, and they overnighted it!

It also has dual band, the 5Ghz is meh, but the 2.4Ghz reaches to the farthest length of my backyard!

    sorry for bumping this.

my promo with xfinity expired and i re-upped with a triple play package. parents still use the landline to make long distance calls, so it seems like a good deal.

however, the modem that i have, Arris Surfboard, SB6141, does not have a phone jack, and now xfinity tells me they require a modem that includes a phone jack..

can anyone help me with this? is there an xfinity approved modem with a phone jack in the back, that i do not have to rent out from them?

also, one other question. my previous deal was at 105 Mbps, but this new deal is 100 Mbps. Is this much of a noticeable difference? I'm satisfied with the speed I have no, and hope this isn't a significant drop off.

105 to 100? Strange change...and you won't notice the difference.

Modem with phone line... Good luck with that. Might be able to buy one of the xfinity ones. Or look on Amazon

They normally have a list of compatible modems on their site... So I assume they would for that type too?

I just found out that I have AT&T Fiber in my neighborhood. $40 a month for 50 mbps and a free modem rental and a $50 Visa gift card! Comcast was charging me $70 for 25 mbps with a $10 modem rental. Check the internet competition out! The Comcast retention specialist just offered me $60 for 100 mbps to stay but I don't need that speed. It was nice being able to tell Comcast to kick rocks after having them as the only high speed option for so long.

Just a friendly FYI for those who haven't thought about it in a while.
