Not foreign, just international, since he comes from a different nation, but one that is technically not foreign. Duncan can play for either Virgin Islands or US, also Nash can play for either Canada or South Africa.
Yao and duncan should be tied for no.1;they are both interchangeable parts. If yao played with the spurs and duncan with the rockets, the spurs would have still gotten to the finals and won it all. Duncan would have not been able to rely on that 3rd scorer.
The only thing Yao ties is Duncan's shoelaces. Duncan's one of the most decorated and accomplished players EVER.
hi who are you? duncan also has 4 years ahead of yao and jumped into a contender when he entered the league.
Just to clearly define our terms here, being born in a country other than the US qualifies you as an "international prospect." The US and the Virgin Islands are seperate entities. What nation you are born in determines your citizenship, and many other things in the eyes of the federal system. There is a huge difference between being born in the US Virgin Islands and USA, in terms of youth basketball support. IIRC, Virgin Island natives are US citizens, and I guess consider themselves American, but TD couldn't run for president. In fact, he doesn't even get to vote. Never been to the Virgin Islands, but I know that Duncan was a world-class swimmer as a kid and turned to basketball after Hurricane Hugo destroyed the only swimming pool, and TD had to swim in the ocean. Doesn't sound like growing up on street hoops. Point being, TD is an international prospect, just like Nash, Yao. I'm conflicted on whether to consider 'Nique international; he doesn't sound french! I guess he was born there, but I'm not sure he lived there long, or if at all. Gray area, but he doesn't make my 5 anyway so I suppose its moot. My list: 1) Hakeem 2) Duncan 3) Nash 4) Yao 5) Dirk
