The guy is really witty and humourous.

I still remembered during the 2006 summer, in the online chat of McDonald's Passion For Life, when he was asked about his impression of Shane Battier, he said he is very happy about Shane Battier joining the Rockets. He is the type of team oriented players that the Rockets need. He may not have superior individual skills, but his contribution to the team should not be underestimated. Yao Ming said he learnt about that when he played against Battier. He even joked that he felt that Shane Battier could be a communist party member, willing to go to whereever (position) he's needed. :D

In the same McDonald Passion For Life online chat, when he was asked whether his deaf left ear caused him any problems in NBA, Yao Ming said he could not hear clearly with his left ear; he could hear only about 30% with his left ear, but it was all noises. He said his left ear did not create alot of problems for him, as Jeff Van Gundy speaks very loud, and it is only important to be able to listen to Jeff Van Gundy's instructions. :D

Right after the game with Boston Celtics, Yao Ming was asked how he felt that Shaquille O'Neal is the only active centre selected amongst NBA Ten Greatest Centres of All Time.

He quipped: "So, of all time, (So it is about history) right ?"

The reporter said: "Yes, that's right."

Yao Ming then said: "So, how many years I have played in NBA ?"

Then he added: "When CCTV (in China) has a similar selection (for CBA's 10 Greatest Centres of All Time), please don't forget to tell me about the result."

Right after the game with Boston Celtics, Yao Ming recieved an interview; he was still a bit mad and upset and took it to the heart about the referees took no action when he was tripped by Big Z the night before in the game with Cleveland Cavaliers.

But Yao Ming was in good mood, and he cracked a joke about it. He said the bitter experience with the Cavalier let him learn a new defensive skill.

"Now I know what I should do next time when I face Shaquille O'Neal. When he received a pass within the paint, all I have to do is to lie down in front of him and say: Hey, Shaq, continue with your move, and I will grab and hang on to your legs. I've learnt this new skill from Big Z !!" :D

    Jonathan Feigen's version:-

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/4611903.html

Rockets center Yao Ming said his experience in Cleveland on Monday should at least add to his defensive repertoire. Yao went down the lane in the final seconds, losing the ball when Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas poked it loose and fell in front of Yao, who crashed hard to the court.

"Now I know what to do the next time I guard Shaq ( O'Neal) and he has the ball in the post," Yao said. "I'll just lay on the ground and say, 'Go ahead. I'll hold your leg.' (The idea came) from Big Z."

I still remembered this funny one.

When asked on the possibility of becoming an actor, Yao Ming said: "I don't think they can find a stunt double for me."
