    Why do you assume the worst of people?

    The chinese for the most part probably don't know all the details and workings of the NBA outside of being fans of their select players and teams. It's not like the NBA is prancing around in their back yard, first hand.

    Even if he meant the OTHER way, it wouldn't have been too overly offensive either. If he really wants to mean it the OTHER way, then this is not the sentense to do it with strength, but rather weak. So, he definitely means the globe meaning...

    there is no presidential election in china.

    at the meantime, we get to choose the lessor of 2 evils once every 4 yrs.
