Well look at that, Corey Maggette leading the league in scoring efficiency.

Gosh, now who was it that was saying we could use him on the Rockets?

    hmmmmmmm?

    Bingo.

Ok, we can close the thread.

    But.......before we go.

How about Gortat and Redick for Ariza, Cook, Dorsey, and Taylor?

I think they're counting assited baskets too. That's why there are so many point guards and the huge difference between Lebron and Kobe.

So one basket is counted 4 pints, sometimes 5 points for an assisted 3 pointer? That doesn't make too much sense to me.

How much is Maggette due again ? No thanks.

He'll be basically 34 when his contract finally expires.

I have to say again the chart does NOT reward the trigger happy. If you are trigger happy and a terrible shooter (read: Trevor Ariza), you will be at the bottom of the Y-axis and far to the right on the X-axis. However, if you are a trigger happy sharp shooter/high efficiency scorer like Durant, then you will be placed at the top right of the graph.

I don't know whether or not this takes into account assisted possessions, but I honestly think it count's shots as "offensive possessions." Basically, this graph shows that when Kevin Durant or Lebron James has an offensive possession, they make the absolute most of it and they are both given an insanely large amount of offensive possessions to do so.

If Carl Landry were eligible he would be very high on the Y-axis but far to the left on the X-axis.

Well, "offensive possession" really need to be defined. Does that mean a player is on the floor or a player touched ball or a player shoots the ball or a player shoots + assists or a player shoots + assits + FTs?

I'm sure FTs are counted because Maggette is on the top of the list, but I don't know how Ariza got into top 50 without the help of trigger happy.

Its not a list of the top 50 players, its a list of the top 50 players in terms of usage and their correlating efficiency in that role.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If Boston gets Monta, watch him blow up big time. Then we'll see who really is the better player. Monta's quicks and his ability to get off his shot against any defender put him in a different class.

I hope it happens, that way Maggs can take over the shot chucking role and put even crazier averages. Getting a shot off against any defender would mean something if he made alot more of his shots and didnt turn the ball over so much in doin so.

Here's another way of looking at it. This shows all players who've played at least 500 minutes this year, with the Rockets highlighted. X-axis is Usage% (% of team possessions used up), while Y-axis is Offensive Efficiency (or ORTG).
