    Ben Wallace can't hold Dream's jock...what a joke...

To clarify, Hakeem Olajuwon was, is, always will be the better defensive player then Ben Wallace.

I thought the list was pretty good. some may disagree but I think bruce bowen is overrated defensively. the system has alot to do with his good man to man defense. he doesnt steal or block very much at all, which is probably the reason he would be behind dirk, who averages way more steals and blocks and his eff. rating is about 8 times better.

There is a reason they called Nirtizky, Irk Nirtwizky. No "D".

Ask Ray Allen and T-Mac about Bowen. They've both publicly said they hate playing against him. There is a reason the guy started on the NBA champions yet has such a limited (pathetic) offensive game. If he wasn't a top notch defender, Pop wouldn't have him on the floor. I don't think he's underrated but if he is, he's top 5-10, not 43. If I want to shut down or slow down a SG/SF, he's my first choice.

    rvpals, very good. :D

Bowen do things in defense that dont represent iin the stats, but he puts a lot of pressure on the other team's player, looks the stats of t-mac, rip hamilton or kobe against bowen and they numbers get down.

I think Najera is a good defensive too like #90 or sth.

not only do the rankings make little sense with the numbers, they have greg ostertag, charlie ward, rasho nesterovic, harvey catchings, and sabonis listed as better defenders than ron artest. and jordan can't break the top 50???? what the hell is going on here?????

Did you guys check the way the stat was calculated? It was points allowed per 100 possessions. This stat very much does take into account intangibles, because intangibles are what make other players miss/turn over the ball.

Are you on crack? Please dont tell me that you just justified someone putting Dirk ahead of anyone in defensive ability. Especially one who is consistently considered ONE OF THE BEST PERIMETER DEFENDERS IN THE GAME.

You are probably like a couple of people I know, they think they play great defesne because they lunge after passes hoping to pick it off but end up leaving their team exposed because of their stupidity. They might get 2 or 3 steals a game on a good day and think that they know defense.
