    That's not even supporting your claim. Boring.

    he never faced Barry Bonds. Greg Maddux never pitched to the same hitters.

    Ahh, but it does support my claim. McLaine was far and away the best pitcher that season, much as Bonds was the superior power hitter last season. Its all relative. Players have big years during their careers. Teddy Ballgame was far superior in 1941 to the talent of that season.
