The dentist I grew up having was great. Our insurance changed so I had to change dentists. First visit my first cavity. 2nd visit I now had 2 cavities. Got a 2nd opinion and I had no cavities. When I was in college I read a study about where they went to a number of dentists after having a confirmed diagnosis from a university. Some dentists totally missed the actual problem. Every dentist recommended more work than what was required. I wish I could find that study.
What products and services? I must have amazing luck with dentists because they've never asked me to buy anything extra after a cleaning. I've gone in, got my teeth cleaned and left. When my tooth got broken as a child they fixed it and that was that. What is the equivalent of the air filter "replacement" with a dentist?
Ditto for me. I get my teeth cleaned twice a year and x-rays once a year. He shows me on the x-rays anything he is concerned about. He has never tried to sell me anything extra. He hasn't found a cavity in the 19+ years I have been going to him. I have had a root canal and it was on a tooth that cracked, which was the same tooth he had been showing me on the x-rays that he was concerned about for 4 or 5 years.
