Do the Rockets want to be a common franchise or be a better one?

The Rockets should not destroy their future cap by signing Tucker, but if it can be done without compromising their flexibility (and they can), then they should do it.

Tucker gets a 2 year 18 mill at most.

Time out....are you saying PJ Tucker had the same recognition, praise, appreciation in Toronto that he's received while being a Rocket?

I repeat. His time with the Rockets...not only revitalized, but quite frankly made his career. Years from now, no one is talking about PJs career as a Sun or a Raptor.

Agreed! If they can "(and they can)", then they should

    I believe it's 2/$24M at most.

He had a higher dollar offer on the table from the Raptors.

His sneaker fame came later but he was valued around the NBA.

If PJ contract extension is what will hold Harden here, give this guy that $$$.

a guy can give his heart and soul to a team for 3 years after taking less money to come here, and the organization can just be like “nope, not extending u, you’re old”...and it’s ok, that’s no problem

but when a player gets upset about it they’re a diva, a b*tch, entitled, spoiled, or whatever else they’re commonly called

stop comparing sports to whatever regular job you’re working

How did we go in 2 years from 65 wins to a place so toxic that the GM, head coach, and all respected vets wanted out? It's still kind of mindblowing.

I agree. I actually just remembered he might be included in the trade after I typed this. Thybulle is a defensive beast with an improved shot

Sure it'd be nice to give Tuck an extension, but not doing so isn't out of the norm.

Heat giving Dragic and Leonard what amounts to 1 year pay days is because it wont affect their flexibility next year. In fact it might help them as they served as large trade exceptions. Furthermore Dragic is really damn good.

The Rockets have no clue what type of team they'll have next year... complete rebuild? looking to add free agents? With how crazy the Harden is, how unpredictable Wall's health/performance is - the Rockets need to be prepared for anything. They can't afford to lock money into an aging veteran, even if it is Tuck. If Tuck was like Barea or Haslem it would make more sense.

So he's worth more than a 26 year old Montrezl Harrell? or a 31 year old Ibaka?

Frankly, I wouldn't give him more than a 1 year deal and then maybe a 2nd that's a team option. At his age and with the shift in offensive direction, chances are he won't bring the same value.

If we trade Harden to the 76ers and don't get both Simmons and Thybulle, I'm going to riot.

I agree, I'm tired of it. You can't compare the two. It isn't the same things. They aren't working hourly or even salaried jobs. They are working on contracts and they just happen to have a talent that generates a multi-billion dollar industry.

MDA and Morey both leave on bad terms upset and disgruntled...Harden and maybe PJ could be next to leave on a bad note

Montrezl and Ibaka signed for less money because they chose to move to teams that didn't have cap available. That's on them. PJ Tucker is definitely worth that money if it means Harden signs the $100M extension. No ****ing doubt about it. I don't believe Tucker is worth more than Ibaka. I do happen to believe he is worth more than Montrezl based on the role he plays on a team like this.

    I mean, they're not lying...

As soon as Harden's departure became a bit clearer, everyone chose sides.

One thing is objectively clear -- Harden's value has gone up from "Not in my top 5" to "He's arguably top 3".

It shows how much people suck at judging skills and character.
