From a fellow Aussie I must say what an amazing daughter you have. It is things like this that put the rest of life into perspective.

In these situations you learn to treasure every moment you have, you realise the annoying little things are actually cute individual characteristics that make your children who they are.

My daughters favourite day was Sunday, because in between church services we'd usually watch a stream of the Rockets games together.

This was last season when Yao was active.

Then we would go out and I would teach her how to play Basketball.

This is a Rocket family, one day we hope to get to Houston to watch a couple of games...we were going to come this year but the operation and also the birth of our new son put a temporary halt to those plans.

Hopefully next season when we have Dwight Howard....:)

    Cool Story, bro

(and cool "Skrillex" haircut 1st pic :))

    Yes, people can be cruel.

Though if its providing a "before" or "procedure" image, it makes sense to show an "after". To show that things are going good. Thats the inspirational part of it.

She got a few purple and pink streaks to make it look cool. I told her that some people might stare at her & tease her, but she said, ' I know dad, it hurts but they don't know any better.'
That still brings a tear to my eye... The wisdom of an 8 year old teaching grown ups how to behave.

Thank you, she is doing great, better than expected. She still has paralysis in the left side of her face, but we're praying that it will return to normal in the near future.

Failed to mention this was done during Christmas period that just past, 2011.

She is an inspiration to many. After her operations her main concern was for the little paralysed girl in the bed opposite us...didn't matter that she was still recovering, she wanted to make sure the other sick kids were ok.

    Heart of a champion.

I wouldn't expect anything else from a Rockets Fan!

Man that's great man! That doctor is a badass! and It's awesome to see people in Australia repping the Rockets like that. You have a beautiful family and I wish your daughter a speedy recovery. I'm 22 and I hope that one day I have kids of my own and could be a father like you. Your kids have genuine smiles on their faces and look so happy and unspoiled. We need more dads like you in this world. Best wishes.

1st, Praise the Lord! Through him all things are POSSIBLE!

2nd, as inspirational as this story is to us in the GARM, I hope TWill gets wind of this (since he's a reader, and shares it with the rest of the team, and the RPDs). Because in the grand scheme of things, we are all just one big basketball loving family.
