This scenario would increase next summer's cap space (if there is any - - see: McGrady, Tracy). It would only benefit a pursuit of Sessions if Rox felt the savings allowed an SnT for him (oops, base year = ainta gonna happen). However, if/when Sessions resigns with Bux then is Jennings wanted and available for Rox?

Does this trade also include a shot gun and some shells for every Rockets fan to take care of themself with?

It is interesting that Stevierebel reports the Utah match on Millsap in this thread.

If I remember the various rules explained at the Larry Coon web site, the trade of Battier for Cunningham would generate a sizable Trade Exception for the Rockets.

Utah is going to need to move salary or else Luxury Tax will hit them hard and most small market teams (Portland excepted) try to stay within reason on salaries.

Since there have been various rumored deals about Utah moving AK47 and/or Boozer to dump salary, a sizable Trade Exception would have value.

I am not saying that the Rockets might be trading for AK47 or Boozer, but a sizable Trade Exception could prove useful in a multi team deal involving the Utah Jazz.

So we trade Battier for Cunningham + TE. Then we use the TE+Landry+Cook for Boozer?

    Does that work?

Battier for the 33rd pick? That's just unfounded and an insult if you ask me. Battier is like the only guy to give Kobe the hardest time in the Western conference. The other is probably Bowen of the Spurs but he's in the Eastern conference now with the Nets. WTF. Where's the link? "Insider"? Who?

    Sigh... Not feeling this one....

You can't combine a TE with players... There can be two trades one sending the TE for a player and then players for players which in a sense would be one big trade..

So if we can't combine a TE with other player, that means we can only use it to acquire a player who gets similar money to Battier? No way it can be used to get a 10+ million dollar player?

If the trade exception is $7 million per say, you can add 25% to it, so the max you can get is $8.75 million I believe because trades allow salaries to be a max of 25% different.

What about the $2.5M TE we already have - can that be combined with a new TE?

I said something earlier in the off season about giving battier away for Jordan. That wouldve gave us a big and a 6m te.

Actually I believe it's only Trade exception amount + 100K.

    http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q69

The CBA faq uses the term "non-simultaneous trade" for what most people refer to it as a trade exception.
