Not wanting to go to a team because a team's jerseys are crappy shows how mature these guys are. I mean, who cares? You're in the damn NBA! It's not really your fault that you're wearing crappy jerseys anyway (since they ARE the team jerseys), so nobody's really gonna make fun of you either cuz you dint have a choice of jersey. Oh well, we prolly won't get any of these guys anyway. ------------------ PrEsident of The Danforth Langhford FAN CLUB... He IS our future All-Star Small Forward
I know this thread is more of a "Draft" thang (where's Mango to say "wrong forum"?) but I'm wondering if Steven Hunter would be the way to go. ESPN Insider says he tore up Woods and, er, mnnh, some other draft center in recent team workouts. Granted, a center has burned us before (Cato) when working for the contract, but he's really been something, this Hunter kid. He could have played himself into the lottery. To hell with Curry, anyway. ------------------
yeah it's pretty immature to not want to come to a team because of bad uniforms. (Although i do agree they do SUCK!!) I doubt they were serious. ------------------
I have just one question...do Mcgrady, Hill, and Armstrong really pass more than Steve and Cat? He is saying that Orlando would give him the ball more, but I doubt it. Sure, Cat doesn't pass much, but Mcgrady passes even less. Hill and Steve are about equal, not sure about Armstrong. I'm thinking more and more that Curry may be a bust, maybe the most likely anyway. ------------------ Now saw off...there's nothing to see here.
Hopefully he played himself above 12 so we can get somebody good with the 13 pick. (Woods) ------------------ What's a Nubian?
lol common guys I was just joking with him, I guess I forgot to put the smiley face. ------------------
I think if anyone dropped to 13 and they were supposed to go higher we should snatch them up and then move them to a team that wanted him and get something extra out of it. ------------------ "We need to FOCASS".... Akeem Olajuwon
I think there's always a reason why the player fell so much, so it may not be a good idea to do that because you're not guarenteed that someone will want him. ------------------
No question about it they do. McGrady averaged 4.5 assists per game as the only option this season in Orlando, numbers that elevated to 8.5 assists per game in the playoffs. Armstrong averaged 7 assists per game during the regular season and in reduced minutes (due to injury) in the playoffs, he averaged 5. Hill, over his career, averages around 7 assist per game himself. Franchise? Less than Hill and Armstrong - 6.5apg. Cuttino? 2.5apg in 2 less mpg than McGrady. No comparison. ------------------
I wouldnt get near Tyson Chandler even if he does fall to 13 (which seems possible). The guy measured out at 7-0 224 with only a 7-1 wingspan. He is definitely going to have to make a transition to the wing positions unless he does some serious bulking up in the weight room. Atleast if the guy was lean and strong he could play a power position but benching 185 once is a complete joke for someone that wants to play in the pivot. Also, I would be more interested in him if he had an extremely long wingspan, but 7-1 wingspan for his size is normal. Let me put the 7-1 measurement into perspective. Loren Woods, Eddy Curry and DeSagana Diop are all in the 7-5 to 7-7 wingspan neighborhood. Darius Miles had a 7-6 wingspan in last yr's draft measurements. Tyson Chandler is going to have a tough adjustment period into the NBA. Right now, he is a position-less player with a ton of hype and little substance. He does have the ability to shoot from the perimeter, but he does not have the ball handling, mid range ability or enough "perimeter sense" to play the 3 position. He is simply too weak to play a power position. I wouldnt be shocked if he fell out of the lottery and hope the Rockets allow him to pass on by. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
I don't know what Willis' wingspan was, but they called him the Penguin. (J/K) I always heard that take on Willis...that his arms were short, but they never looked that short to me. Besides, that was kind of a ridiculous comment which talking heads made frequently, that Kevin was not a shot blocker because he had short arms. For Pete's sake, they weren't friggin' flippers, and he is seven feet tall. Kevin is not a shot blocker because he is not a shot blocker. Long arms help, but it is anticipation, quickness and height that primarily make a player a shot blocker. Long arms is a distant fourth. ------------------
Not sure exactly on Kevin Willis's wingspan, but he did have very short arms for his height. Its not the wingspan alone that matters really, its the wingspan in relation to his height. For instance, if a 6-8 player has a 6-9 wingspan, thats nothing out of the ordinary, but if a 6-8 player has a 7-5 wingspan or thereabouts (Elton Brand, Donnell Harvey, etc.) then its something to look at. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
Kevin Willis had a nice upper body, but he had some chicken legs. "bawk bawk, chicken chicken, bawk bawk, chicken legs." -36 mafia ------------------
