I don't think Morey would hesitate to get Paul just because we have Lin. As for your scenarios, it seems like a lot to hope for to convince Paul and Howard to come here, and have the rest of the nba spend free agency waiting around to use their cap space on our castoffs. Once it's clear what our plan is, other teams would know they have us over a barrel. We might not be able to get much for these guys that we would obviously need to trade away. I'd be interested to hear how you think we would fit Paul, Howard, Harden, and J Smith or Millsap under the cap. Can we exceed the cap by trading for Paul and a PF?
Just watch the end of last game again, 4 ISO's down the stretch in a row came up 0 big pts while teammates are open but no pass. Oh we always let the best player of the team do whatever he wants... that's why Kobe couldn't even lead a team to playoff without Shaq or Gasol. If even Kobe couldn't do it, why let Harden have the Kobe treatment to sabotage a potential victory? Obviously Refs are not gonna call those touchy fouls Harden is always trying to initiate... with no foul called, all his missed layups will turn into TO's in playoff.
