Yes, we have many chances as we are near the 3, 4, 5 and 6 spots and so are the spurs. 4 vs 5 and 3 vs 6 in any order will do it.

Part of me is a little upset. I actually really like Manu (spare me your flames, please), and I would rather see the Spurs win than any of the other competition out West this season.

They could probably still win a first round series against the Mavs, Hornets or Jazz, especially considering the HCA.

Trade Tmac for Ginobili while you can!! Since both are injured and i am sure the Spurs arefrustrated with his problem as well.

We need them to be 3rd, us 2nd seed for the playoff. I don't see it happening with Denver being the spoiler. Avoid 4th, 5th and 8th at all cost if our aspiration is WCF.

I would never celebrate the injury of an opposing player. However, now the Spurs will have to deal with what we've had to for years.

We'll have to see if they adjust in time.

Michael Finley has a much more important role now, as does Roger Mason Jr.

Good news for us. Terrible news for the Spurs and basketball, in general. Like somebody already mentioned: this throws a serious kink into their championship-in-odd-years pattern.

Not very likely, unless they want it that way. They have 3 cupcake games left, and they played without Manu well pretty much the whole year holding onto the 2nd.

I agree with you 100%. They're my second favorite team. I went to school in SA, and they are a really good group of guys. I don't see how you can like Scola and not like Ginobili. Well, maybe because he's not on our team, but they play the exact same type of whirling, improvosational solid style of play.

They could indeed win a series, but I think they're falling to #5 or #6 and won't have HCA. They could still win a series, but it's not certain. I also had hopes they would fall to #4\#5 and take out the Lakers in the second round, which isn't happening now.

As a Rockets fans we should not smile at others' pain. The last thing this team needs is bad karma.

I'm not celebrating his injury, because I do like his game a lot. He reminds me a lot of Scola.

But WOW, this really impacts the standings. I don't know what to think right now. The Spurs could fall to #6 and draw us at #3.

Thanks to whoever linked to that thread on spurstalk -- those guys are spearing Manu over there. Unbelievable -- guy helps their team win 3 championships and they complain about his participation in the Olympics.

I dont think Ginobli's loss will hurt their seeding - they have done fine without him for alot of the regular season so far.

It will however, have a big impact on their playoff run.

the funny thing is that manu's injury will be mentioned countless times throughout the rest of the season and into the playoffs in the broadcasts, and mcgrady's not a once.
