classic Sam line when they mentioned that Sam was traded for Charles

Sam " Just one of many hall of famers I got traded for" !!!

you got how Kenny mentioned Sam and the good old "ROCKET DAYS!"

    Oh that was awesome!
Just finished watching Inside the NBA (TIVOed) at the end of the show, they showed Kenny vs Sam's stats as Rockets. Sam of course points out that "Kenny was the starter". So Ernie says to see who's better they have to shoot it out in studio at the 3 point line.
    4 shots each.

    Kenny 1/4
    Sam 3/4

Another cool thing Sam mentioned was about Steve Nash.
Since Sam was in Phoenix when Nash was rookie, Sam mentored him.

Steve asked Sam how to pass the ball better "I told Steve, you want to pass the ball better, put it in the hole!"

    Funny, but yet so true.

There's a reason why the Rockets haven't made it past the first round for almost a decade. They simply had no winners on those teams. Guys like Sam I Am just have a knack for winning. I really do believe in that kind of stuff. I really do think that no matter how much talent you have, you've got to have some guys who're just synonymous with winning.

I still think the Rockets lack that guy, although I am not sure who is out there that would fit the bill. But Yao and McGrady just don't strike me as leaders and they do need to be led, IMO.

    Sam is so close man.
Eastern Conference Finals with the Bucks, Western Conference Finals with the TWolves, Almost the Western Conference Finals with the Clips
Sam should have got some award for bringing the Clippers out of the dead. I mean, THE CLIPPERS!
For you newbies, that's like some QB taking the Texans to the AFC Championship game.
I believe Sam never got the respect Kidd and the others have because doesn't do spectacular passes or dunks. He just makes the right plays and hits 15 footers all day.

The old Rocket championship teams were LEADERS and HEROES.
They hit clutch shots, they made their TEAM better, they brought emotion. Maxwell brought more than enough emotion to the team, but everyone did. I always love telling the story of when I met Otis Thorpe. I told him how happy I was for the 1st Rockets Championship. Otis was genuinely happy and PROUD OF CLUTCHCITY CHAMPIONSHIP 1. you can see it! he was so proud to be part of that team. I'll always talk about the championships cause I'll always be proud of OT and Dream and everyone else!

When Tmac and Yao bring that pride back, I'll babble for thousands of years about it too!
