Rockets season ticket holders should call Les and give him an altimatem...

"If you continue to play Rafer, we will not be buying season tickets"

No I want a super star in return for Rafer, like Kobe, Lamar Odom, Bynum. Rafer is a scrub and you can't get anything but a second round pick or a scrub in return.

If this is true, the Rox don't want to let go of Steve and they're showcasing Rafer..It's just unfortunate that stevie was out of condition..

Not saying the source was full of it, but Adelman said in his press conference that he told Steve he was going to play Sat. The RA gave for playing SF3 made perfect sense (Phoenix's style, 4 in 5 nights, TMac's injury, etc.). I would be very surprised to find out that this was true.

    Excellent!

I can't imagine if this story is true about the ultimatum that it was a serious conversation.

All they have to do is say :"If you play Rafer will will not be buy second round tickets."

I have to add - it seemed like a plausable story when the rox guy told it to us - but who knows the tone from the SF3 camp. It may not have been the "ultimatum" that was relayed (hense - the use of the word "possible")

to the people who think this should be locked - I will leave it to the mods - I would have put it in the debate thread, but its not really an opinion, just a story that was relayed. If any of you guys ever get to see a game in the boxes, the Rox people really are accessible up there

I don't doubt that the conversation occurred but do you think there is a chance that it was just talk, or was the guy being completely serious?

I don't blame you for making the thread, but let's just hope that it's not true and things work out well with Steve in the long run.

While I don't doubt Willis' story, I am skeptical of the information -- or at least the characterization. Feigen says the opposite in his article today in claiming Francis never asked for a trade (though he thought about it) or asked about his role. It would also be strange to make an ultimatum about this game. I could see it being more like a "Hey coach, we're down a guard; if you still don't want me to play, why do you keep me around?" kinda thing. And, finally, I can't imagine Adelman would actually bend to an ultimatum. When non-rotational players make demands, they get cut, not coddled.

Well, I am not surprised if there is such ultimatum. It's painful to watch
your starter PG keep getting PT and continues to lose games while Francis knows Francis can play better and stop some of the losses.

Yeah, that Feigen article seems to be the rumor killer on this one. States almost the complete opposite.
