Perhaps you missed the many photos of electric fences surrounding the country so people don't get out.

that triangular building in Pyongyang is one of the worlds largest buildings, but in '92 construction was halted due to financial difficulties. It's just a shell and is not in use.

It is the first building outside of NY and chicago to have 100 floors.

    looks evil

We may get to know North Korea up close and personal.

Report: North Korea preparing for missile test
Long-range weapon has potential to strike mainland America, official says

SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea loaded booster rockets onto a launch pad and moved about 10 fuel tanks to a launch site in preparation to test-fire a long-range missile that could reach as far as the U.S. mainland, a newspaper reported Saturday.

    N. Korea Denies It's About to Test Missile

TOKYO (AP) -- North Korean officials denied that the country is preparing to test-launch a missile, a news report said Saturday, citing a South Korean official.

Visiting officials from the North told a South Korean lawmaker that concerns over Pyongyang's possible missile test are "unfounded," Japan's Kyodo News agency reported from Seoul.

The report came as the United States and Japan jointly urged North Korea to suspend preparations for a test-launch of a long-range missile.

Speculation has been mounting that the North could abandon its self-imposed moratorium on long-range missile tests by launching a Taepodong-2, believed able to reach the United States with a light payload.

I have heard people speaking on visiting North Korea. Apparently it is really creepy to go out to visit the countryside. Because food is so hard to come by everything edible is harvested for human consumption.

As a result, there is nothing available to support any kind of wildlife and so there are no wild living creatures like birds. You can go out in the middle of a wide open area somewhere and it's completely, unnaturally, dead quiet.

North Korea Appears Close to Missile Test

    Jun 18, 5:30 PM (ET)

    By BURT HERMAN

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North Korea appeared close Sunday to test-firing a long-range missile capable of reaching the United States, prompting the White House to warn of an appropriate response and Japan to threaten a "fierce" protest to the United Nations.

North Korea was silent on the issue but vowed to bolster its "military deterrent" in a burst of fiery rhetoric carried by its state news agency.

A test launch of what is believed to be a Taepodong-2 missile would inflame a region already tense over the North's continuing nuclear weapons program.

"There are signs" of an imminent missile launch, Jung Tae-ho, a spokesman at the South Korean president's office, told The Associated Press. He added that security officials were "closely watching the situation."
