A comment from a child in a comedy skit gets you on the boycott brigade but a government seriously talking about killing millions of people and destroying entire cities is no big deal. LOL What a joke.

You should try using context, it kind of matters.

I assume this veiled threat is aimed at Taiwan, that the US might abandon it's treaty commitments in the future so you'd better deal.

But if they did bomb all our good Hydro in Mendicino, they would truly harsh our buzz,

I guess we are supposed to be scared or something. Maybe build some more missiles ourselves. However, this sounds like a positive development or we might have the neo-cons wanting to attack China to instill democracy or promote feminism.:(

    Oops not enough oil. Ignore

I don't think many are scared of China. They are weak, their army is weak because of it. I don't think it would take much to break them, their people would not have true loyalty to their government. Too many people in to much open country would ditch their government.

Russians would be much harder to break

You can bet that the countries in the region don't feel the same way. China's ruling oligarchy isn't mad enough to attack the United States with nuclear weapons in any way, shape, or form. Conventional weapons? That's another story. I think they will avoid an armed conflict with the US if at all possible, but things can happen that aren't in the direct control of their government. Mistakes can be made. For example, the confrontation with Japan is extremely dangerous. It's one of the flash points that could draw the United States into war, a war we definitely don't want. All it takes is a miscalculation on someone's part. I hope nothing of the sort happens, but it worries me.

... and in this same post you said that Japan has no issue standing up for itself against china.... even in disregard of U.S. opinion at times.

Pathetic that they can't even reach Hawaii. How can we take them seriously?

Should we be afraid of China's U-boats?

The United States probably has ten times as many submarines and missiles targeting China. We've been building the capabilities and refining the contingent invasion plans for 60 plus years. China's context, if any, is publicizing (partial) balance of power and (completely legal and justifiable) self defense.

You don't need to be politically correct do understand you implied that with the bolded comment. That comment represents your acknowledgment of the ongoing ruckus between Japan and China in which Japan maintains a stance against them. Going as far as stating that the threat of physical warfare will be no detriment to them backing off.

My statement describing that within your comment you describe a situation in which japan itself has no issue standing up to them, even against U.S. opinions

Old fox knows something but not everything. China will consider every tiny bit of American engagement when confronting any of its neighours.
