well, Bill Worrell said that he did land on Arenas foot.
I still think it has nothing to do with it. I agree with tslee98 that it was a result of sitting on the bench for a long time. if y'all noticed, he was probably the only player from both teams sitting on the bench when the lights went out.

    hope it's nothing serious

The rest will give him a better chance of passing the physical so the trade can go through. Tmac for Rashard and Fortson works $$ wise.

This definitely ruined my day. Now I am clicking refresh every half a minute to try to find some updates on the situation. Hopefully it would be something minor. At least he was not lying down on the court screaming, and walked off to the locker room. But still, DDDDAAAAMMMNNNN. He was just starting to play like his former self and picking up confidence, and then it happened. I am afraid his confidence in his body will again drop down to an all time low.

thought he said his back problem is all in the past...wtf?? Even landing a simple jumper can trigger a backspasm now this is really really bad. Really hope tmac can get well, but if he didn't get well over all that 8months... i dont think he will get well in the middle of a season anymore

The positive side is Yao was able to carry the team when TMac goes down. Yao is growing stronger and stronger, both physically and mentally. When TMac comes back, if ever, we'll be a real contender.

a couple of things happened tonight.. first t-mac is still a superstar and he proved it tonight, attacking the rim most of the night, knowing he was going up against one the elite players in the league. secondly yao reassured his team and the fans(us), this is not the same team as last year by coming out with a huge quarter and big win tonight. this will be huge confidence booster for the rox. as for t-mac's back, as i recall last year, his spasms would be a reoccuring issue for the remainder of his career and lets just hope and pray spasms are all thats wrong with him. i guess t-mac answered our questions as to why he hadnt been attacking the basket more often....his back was still regaining it strength.......GET WELL SOON ,VERY SOON T-MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know before the injury I was replaying that alley-oop, looking at how he landed. He did seem to try and be conservative on the landing that it may have added to the akwardness of it. I think probably the landing, the not stretching during the lights out, and limping at one point at one point in the game...may have all contributed to it.

But McGrady is strong. I'm really hoping its nothing serious and he'll be back soon.

T-MAC UPDATE: (courtesy of Jonathan Feigen)

In the lockerroom after the game, McGrady said it wasn't as bad as last year and he might even play Tuesday against the Lakers. But he could not stand up straight, shuffled along and everyone else was talking about getting by without him for awhile. Rockets trainer Keith Jones would not even take a guess at how long he'd be out. With back spasms, you just don't know.

Looks like Bonzi will play Tuesday if TMac's unable to go, according to Fran Blinebury.

    Link to AP recap

"McGrady said he expected to play Tuesday at home against the Los Angeles Lakers."

Doesn't seem like a big deal. Hopefully it stays that way. If he's just being cautious, I applaud him for that. We need him down the road more than we do right now. Playing a fat Bonzi may be more beneficial than playing a hesitant T-mac.

i'd rather t-mac play limited minutes off the bench (like 20 a game) from here on out as a secret weapon. this has two benefits:

    1) It keeps t-mac healthy for the playoffs

    and more importantly,
    2) It lets our team develop confidence w/o the old "leader" "star", lets Yao become the monster that he is, and helps out the confidence of our competent players, such as battier, head, and for right now...... jho..
