I hope they let him ease into it. We're very deep at the 3 and have enough depth at the 4 to hold fort without him. Anderson, Ariza and Moute can handle most of the minutes and Troy Williams can maybe play a bit here and there.

Let him heal, practice a lot and get in the best condition possible. We got this.

    Still don't know why we gave this dude a 4 year deal , he's already 33 and can't hit a 3 consistently.

He is 32, and will be throughout the season. And he's here mainly because he can defend 3 positions, and shoot 35% from 3.

Also, his last year at age 35 is only guaranteed for the vet minimum. Because of that, he is essentially an expiring contract during his 3rd yr at age 34....as a receiving team in a deadline trade can recoup ~$5.5m in capspace by trading for him and cutting him prior to his last yr getting fully guaranteed.

    hope that eases your worries.:)

I think theres a video of him in one of those pick up games this summer. Might not have been that one but he did say it was during a pick up game.

Who can guard any of them one on one? His defensive skills are emphasized because he has a better chance of checking them than 95% of the league. That is all we can ask for

So, you find out he's 32, and not 33, like you thought, and that he's pretty much on a 3yr contract with TO, not a 4yr,,,,

And that's all the thanks I get for typing that up.

    Sigh

Who said anything about him guarding PGs. When I said 3 positions, I meant 2, 3 and 4.

There is literally no one on the planet I'd rather put on Melo.

Think of PJ as PatBev in Harden's body

those were decent highlights , not very impressive though and that was 3 years Ago !!!!
He has a reputation as a good defender just like Pat Bev and we can all agree that Bev wasn't that good of a defender he does give you toughness not necessarily good defense.
There are only 2 real defenders in the league Draymond and Kawhi

No we can't agree on this. Bev was all-nba defensive 1st team for a reason. You can make the argument that 2015-2016 was probably one of the worst defensive seasons for Bev, but last year? Seriously man. Bev played real good defense last year. This isn't the 90's where hand checking was allowed, so playing perimeter defense in this day and age is a lot more challenging and Bev had a great year last year.

From the games I saw Tucker last year, he played some really good defense as well. He may not be a lock down defender all season long, but he will give you some great minutes against some of the top players in this league. I'm not expecting a all-nba defensive guy in Tucker, but he is going to give us a big edge from the bench this season.

Stop being stuck on some contract number and try evaluating the player for who he is.

Tucker, Moute and Ariza give us a good defensive rotation that has been lacking for a long time.

He's an old man that is a liability on offense and plays decent defense in spurts. the only way i see all these old guys holding up is if we coast throughout the regular season and forget about Homecourt
