were you around when Yao went down against the lakers?? that was pretty damn sad.. if you were not sad you are not a Rockets fan
This is D'antoni's fault 100% Players always want to play but its the coaches responsibility to pull the player, specially at Kobe's age. He played 48 min for 2 strait games. I know you are trying to make the playoffs but at some point you have to rest your best player who has been i the league for 15 + yrs. I know there are going to be a lot of pissed off l(f)aker fans.
Damnit. Did my previous post not show up? **** it.. Yep. Yao. T-Mac. Grant Hill. Penny Hardaway. Guys who's careers were taken away by injury in their prime. Kobe has had 2 decades. Not so sad. Still wish it never happened b/c of the soon to come stories on how Kobe was ready to surpass Jordan BS if it weren't for this injury. Brace yourself, stupidity is coming.
Still, though, none of the medical staff said anything to him? I'm sure they probably ran something by him on Kobe's condition. I still would like to hear what he has to say. I wouldn't doubt it if he says the wrong thing.
Medical staff or dantoni isn't going to affect anything with Kobe. Good or bad, it's on Kobe for playing too much
You know, I am not a Kobe Bryant fan. I would even go so far as to say I hate him in so much as you can hate a sports figure. That said, I'm absolutely shocked by this news. Kobe just seemed super human and basically immune to serious injuries, even at this age. I'll be sad if this is the end of his career, and, at his age, I just can't imagine he'll ever return to what he was. Sad day for basketball.
Kobe will be back, and he will be good. Perhaps better in some ways since the rest of his battered body will have a chance to heal.
If a great player was ever to have a career ending injury, after having played through multiple other injuries, tearing the "achilles" seem like the most iconic way of going out.
I don't think you can entirely blame coach Pringles for this. Kobe has been in the league for 16 years playing year round. These last few games playing 48 minutes a game didn't hurt him as much as the longevity that he's been playing at such a high level he has had a great career and yes it's sad this is how it may end. Dude should have given himself a few summers off. Fourth all time in scoring and 5 rings isn't a bad way to go imo. I don't like the guy but I do respect him. I was really looking forward to him trying to break Kareem's record. Hopefully he makes a comeback and retires in his own terms.
People say it's Antonie fault um....... Lakers had a chance to get Phil Jackson back LAKERS SCREWED THEMSELVES
hmmm even though it seems the hate has died down over the years.. thinking back about the 90's you are right... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fwmIOKd27aA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Scott Williams a true NBA HERO and LEGEND in my books
