Lets give Taylor a little more look see... Landry was considered a miss until the second half of the season.
We're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice.
What is it with the man love on this board for Dorsey ? He has yet to show that he is NBA worthy yet I see time and time again " Bring up Dorsey" " Resign Dorsey" " Dorsey get it done Morey " He sucks people its just that simple
I say send Taylor down to the D-League so he can at least develop and let Von take his bench warmer role. Cause we all know Von can hoop.
Dorsey.. yes, but JT is a second round pick who has been in the NBA a whole 25games... He has time Dont compare him to someone like Chase, because Chase was supposed to go a lot sooner
There is no need to bring Dorsey back. With Landry out, we still have Hayes, Scola and Andersen (who has been playing very well lately) to rotate around the PF and Center position. Brian Cook has a better chance of playing than Dorsey. I doubt Taylor will get any minutes either from these injuries. We'll basically be running a Brooks Ariza backcourt (like we do now) and rotate these two players with Lowry and Battier. McGrady will make up a few of those minutes to give our players extended rest. I can see our players being a little tiring than usual, and considering our ridiculous schedule this month, it will look pretty ugly. Though I doubt the organization will waste time to bring in some D-league players. RA's system requires chemistry, D-league players will only break that up. IMO, Jermaine Taylor might get dressed next game, but he will only play if we get a comfortable lead late in the second half. We're basically running an 8 man rotation at this stage, with McGrady playing 8 minutes tops. Though I'm confident that if we develop a nice lead going in to the fourth quarter, McGrady may come in again.
^ Mostly agree with flamingdts about the rotation around PF/C. However, I'd recall Dorsey from the D-League. Would like to see what/whether he has learnt much from his time there. At any rate, I'd like to see him on the bench in case (heaven forbid) someone else goes down during a game. There was a stage that I thought Hayes might have been injured too when Brooks ran into him vs OKC.
Because after Taylor's first Rockets interview this past June, DD said that Taylor sounded dumb and ever since that moment DD must forever embrace and defend that viewpoint till kingdumb come no matter what
Interesting question. If Lowry is to get the add'l time then Temple? If they want to keep a similar rotation then perhaps Harris? BTW - Harris is on the D-League roster but is NOT Rox property, yes? But Temple is both?
3 guys aren't enough for the PF/C. Big men tend to get in foul trouble quickly, depending on who refs the game. When the refs call 2 quick fouls early on Scola, Hayes or even both players, the Rockets usually can make up for it with Andersen and Landry. It may leave Budinger coming off the bench to play PF in a small ball lineup and Lowry as SF/SG, with Landry out.
I think Tracy is going to slowly get more minutes over the next few games, and Trevor is going to play the majority of minutes at the 2. Jermaine is not fully ready for a large role on the team, and seeing that Chase will probably be back in two to four weeks, I'm not seeing any big 10-day signings in the near Rockets' future.
I don't think Tmac fans will get their wish, I think Adelman will stick to his plan of limiting his minutes. As for Taylor, he is just not an NBA player, not smart enough, and his athleticism while good, is not elite and he is not able to get by on it in the NBA. I agree he should be at Rio Grande, he needs more developmental time, ON THE FLOOR....because he is not a factor in Houston other than a warm body for practice. I think the only reason he is still here is that Les paid $2 million for the pick and the organization doesn't want to admit they blew it with him..... The team needs bodies to practice though.....I think Harris or Temple could be called up, but maybe they limp until the January 10 day contract period begins. DD
Brooks and Landry only started getting minutes after january of their rookie year, so I wouldn't strike out JT yet. As for Dorsey, well, I agree. However, you can't call a second round pick a miss to be honest.
