    I'm really worried.
Though not an orthopedic surgeon, I am a doctor. A tibial plateau fracture can take over a year to fully heal, if that.
It is an important weight bearing structure.
Apparently tibial plateau fractures are often associated with ligament and menisci damage. Did they rule those out yet?
I don't know if Yao will be able to sprint, pivot, or move laterally after such an injury.
I truly hope they don't try to rush Yao back.
I hope he will be back.

this is the worst! we have so much potential with this team. we will never be able to show what we really have in us.

except yao is going to be out for a lot longer than just 10 games. this might be a season-ending injury, or worse. this franchise can't handle that. no franchise can handle losing its top 2 players for any extended period of time. this is really really depressing, and there is no silver lining. we might finally get to see vspan and novak play a little though, but that hardly makes up for losing the superstars of the team.

6-7 out of 10 is what we were winning with both Yao and Mcgrady in the lineup

2 out of 7 is what we won without Mcgrady. I would expect our record would be even worse without Yao.

    That sounds bad.. :(

Do you think Yao's height and size might have an impact on his recovery? I heard that extra tall people's knees take a a beating and I'm guessing someone Yao's size might have a harder time recovery from a knee injury than an average person.

There are different degrees of non displaced tibial plateau fractures obviously. Considering it was thought to be a bone bruise and MRI showed it to be a minor tibial plateau fracture with the rest of his knee intact, look on the bright side for Yao. This isn't a career ending injury or one that will impact his long term basketball performance. Get well, rest does wonders to improve the mental aspect of the game.

Yao is our pivot of everything. I just dont understand why some people are still in denial that the season is over. We might win some due to the get it for Yao factor, but no way we can sustain. We are reduced to a bottom team in the west without Yao. Face it.

Basically it say it is not a major injury , will take 4-6 weekd to recover n wouldn't do permanent harm to Yao's career
