Funny because, all of you guys are saying the Rockets are done so whats the big deal? that doesn't mean there not showing respect to Yao. believe it or not there is alot of Chinese Laker fans so you can bet they have there prayers for Yao.

Photos of Yao Ming leaving Toyota Centre for hospital for the MRI.......

He needs his crutches to walk.

And his girl friend Ye Li is there with him.

Things like this are exactly the reason why I didn't like the Gay/Swift for Battier trade.

We banked on this season. But what if we weren't ready this season? As it turned out, we weren't...

I'd been depressed for about 3 weeks over a bad breakup;but when I saw yao grabbing his knee,I actually felt my heart skip a couple of beats. I realized how meaningless a breakup is,compared to a fallen comrade. :(
I have faith that Yao will return and conquer once again.
May god be with us all in these darkest of times.

    godspeed

    tibial plateau fracture info: LINK
doesn't seem like Yao's injury is as severe as the sample on the website ... but if it doesn't heal, season ending knee surgery like this :( ?:

The most important thing which has not been answered in this thread: WILL THIS INJURY HAVE ANY LONG TERM EFFECTS ON YAO'S PLAYING ABILITY?

This is going to be mean, but i hope Yao is out for longer than six weeks. I want him to get his rest and I want us to tank so we can get a good pick this coming draft.

If it heals without surgery, that would be great for Yao ... Yeah, keep him out as long as it takes to heal properly. He's young. It's said to be a tiny fracture. I'm hoping for the best. I'm not very religious, but will pray ... at least to the basketball gods. Get well Yao.

it has been answered, but you just havent bothered to either actually read it, or if you did, you didnt understand it.

    IF.....IF.....IF

IF the non-displaced fracture heals properly...no surgery will be required adn his recovery will MOST LIKELY be 100%

if it doesnt...then surgery will be required which COULD lead to long term arthritis.

again....nothing is definite except it is fractured and he WILL be out a MINIMUM of 6 weeks.

Some poster here claimed that he had similar injury and there should be no long term impact to Yao. The truth is that you never know. I just talk to my wife about it becase she is working night shift in her hospital. She told me that you just never know. I guess we just have cross our fingers and pray. The last thing we want to do is to rush him back to make the 8th seed of the playoff.

Thank you for sharing that with us, I pray God sees you thru this time...

I can empathize with that feeling about your heart skipping a beat though, i was on the phone with a friend when that happened... I just got numb and blocked everything out, i went for minutes without knowing what was being said on the other end of the line, I dont even remember hanging up...

It so hard being a Rockets fans... Omg.. omg omg omg

Is this how Cubs fans feel? Every year they spend big but their team goes down... Us Rocket fans year after year have so much potential and excitement and we.. no no no because we aren't the stupid effing cubs, we are the Rockets and this year we got the championship, have faith!!

I feel so bad for Yao, early career he was robbed by the refs with ridiculous fouls, and now that he has established himself he gets injured.. in the KNEE!!! That can cause long-term strain

Yao.. I feel so bad for you.. just bad.. have a merry christmas

The Rockets conquer in 2007;The Fans Rejoice!!

    mark my words

we beat San AN after 10 years and along with eliminating that drought we also end the championship drought. We only have a few more weeks of sucking, because in 07' that is our year!!
