January? Dont fool yourself. The early you realize it, the better for your health. Vent it now like the rest of us. I am sure I will be fine and move on after tomorrow.

Yao-Oden-Battier-TMac-Rafer??? With Bonzie/Hayes/Head off the bench.

    Sweet.

(I'm not really giving up on them yet...but things aren't looking great)

You goota admit that Shaq is smart, he forced mediocre coaches out & doesn't settle for less than the best coaches- Zen & Pat Riley! That's why Shaq has a lot of rings.....cuz he does'nt let stupid coaches make him do stupid things like diving for balls unnesesarily or chase small guards, or go out to guard perimeter players, these things are not good for a 7' 6'' center like Yao to be doing, being a goalie is more like it! Why waste his time & energy!

should have traded Tmac for Iverson while we had the chance..........at least he'd play through his ailments.

hoping of this happening is the only thing keeping me from jumping out of the window :D

Yao's injury is very unfortunate, but it might be our only hope of getting back the Orlando Tmac. if his back can hold up, which I am sure it can, he can get back to his old self and keep us hanging strong until the big man comes back.

this is my super-optimistic prediction(optimism is not a usual trait of mine), call me a dreamer, I dont care, I just hope it's true:

Tmac is just fine, his back injury is not serious at all and it's not related to last year's. he is just sitting out right now to get some rest and get his shooting touch back on track. he is waiting for the new year to make his come back and make it special. and guess what January 1, 2007 brings with it? it brings back the good old leather ball, the one that gave Tmac his back2back scoring titles. Worrell said that Tmac was working out down stairs while the game was going on, I think he is shooting J's with that old ball to get used to it before anybody else and take advantage of that in his comeback.

I blame it on Jimmy Kimmel.

    **** you Kimmel.

Seriously, this sucks. We go from having Yao on an MVP pace to being lucky if he's back by March. I was just hoping we'd be able to weather the storm until Tracy got back, which I figured they were taking their time with to be safe.

I'm getting an eerie feeling that we'll be seeing an Alston/Head/Bonzi/Hayes/Howard lineup for a while.

ARGGHH!!!! That lineup is as exciting as watching a national development game. This is so depressing. Can't cancel my leaque pass now.

This is almost as bad as losing game 7 to dallas. I am so depressed.

Does anyone know how serious this injury is in the long-term? Is this like a one time thing where you heal up and it never effects you again or could it become a reoccurring problem like T-Mac's situation?

Yao and TMac just can not avoid injures every year. It is a big problem. One thing to avoid this things is try to not do things too hard. Yao got the injure for a rebound last year, this time for a block.

Good. Not to lessen the situation, but that's not as serious as a "normal" broken lleg. Especially if it's non-displaced. Yao will be back in 6 weeks, and we'll see him then.

how sweet, I just noticed that this is my 1000th post!

my own 1000th post was one of good faith and hope of a better future!

it was a post believing in my favorite player! being optimistic that he will come back and carry us!

it sucks though that my 1000th post came in a night that jepardize a season that was expected to be OUR SEASON.

just believe Rockets fans, never quit. our team wont let us down

The worse thing is that all the anal-ysts will go about saying 'See? I told you that he would get injured somehow! He's an injury plagued player!'

Bad luck dogs the Rockets footsteps. Ah well, if we do tank the season, I hope we get a high draft pick. A big man would be nice, along with a decent backup PG in the second round.

I'm no expert, of course, but they're saying he should heal just fine without any surgery. To me, that makes me think it shouldn't have a long term impact. But, again, I know nothing about this stuff.
