I don't think they are even remotely related. The only thing I blame is that he just tries too hard. He gives 120% himself in EVERY game. That's not good in one point of view.....

You can't blame this injury on anything other than bad luck and Yao's immense size. It has nothing to do with his responsibilities in China (though that's DAMN annoying and not helping matters any) or the extra load he's had to carry without T-mac (also very annoying).

I don't see how T-Mac coming back will help. It'll be just a repeat of last season: guy pushes himself to the limit to pick up the slack, only to reaggravate his back problem and get sidelined again. Mind you, he did it to himself this season while HOLDING BACK.

The Rockets should just sit T-Mac the rest of the year. Stick a fork in us, we're done.

This wasn't an injury related to stress or over-exertion... hell, he wasn't even diving for a loose ball, or being in a place that he didn't need to be in.

He was in the paint playing defense... Thomas fell down... and his head connected at the perfect spot on Yao's massive legs. Its sucks... its a freak injury, like Hakeem's eye-socket fracture... you hope he can come back from it without much struggle, and you move on.

If Yao adjusts his style of play based on the FEAR of injury... then his most dominant days are already behind him.

well even all our guys at 100%

I doubt we had a real chance to win this season anyways...

lets tank... and get a good draft pick and come back next year...

time to use the Bench like crazy and see what they can do...

hope Bonzi stays with the team...

and we get some more free agents willing to take a pay cut and come play...

right now... were a injury prone team... and that dosent help much :(

That's wrong. PJ always asked Shaq to do the same (to run off perimeter to show opps guards). But Shaq is Shaq. Shaq will do what he does best and just ignored PJ and stationed in the paint. Shaq also asked the Lakers to fire Del Harris (who just took Lakers to WCF) and hired PJ. With the Heat, Shaq also grouped with his buddy playas and forced Stan Van Gundy out. Great playas make great choice and Shaq is only willing to play for championship calibre coach. Not a GOOD coach will satisfy Shaq's desire.

I do not understand why everyone on this board looks shocked on Yao's injury.

While everyone cheering on Yao's stellar perfomance for the past six games, how many of you noticed how many times Yao has fallen down heavily with little body contact? Yao has been "over-doing" it, it is over his physical limitation. Not only because of the heavy minutes, but also the intensity. whether it is soccer or bascketball, when you over-used your body, you are injury-prone. this is especially true for the "big guy". I truly hate to see Yao being overused like this.

I thought I could be classified as a Rockets fan rather than YOF because I always root for Rockets(even when they play Lakers). And every game I watch I am more concerned about Rockets win than Yao's stateline. Still I will be called YOF because what I will say(the same I said days ago): The Rockets owner should do something about this team, or Yao should demand for a trade!

My point was with two major injuries in as many seasons. The guy needs to let his body recuperate (last thing rockets fans would want if he went down with glandular fever next season) and with a fractured knee rehabbing in the off-season would be in his best interest.

at least 6 weeks, in which he cant move because cant pressue on the knee.
How long would it take for him get in shape, and be able to play after that?

It is a little surprising the funny landing just happened for Yao for the 1st time consider he falls down every 10 seconds in the game.

I hope that Yao comes back with another breakout - 32 pts, 12ppg, 5 blks every night. As long as Rox keep the playoff spot, we go to the Title

    Yea I can.

    I blame Tim Thomas.

He should be in the perimeter and nowhere near the paint.

for those who are being drama queens, look on the positive end Yao will be back before you know it ok maybe january and with him snyder will be back also and hopefully tmac but even if tmac is not back by then, we still have a good chance of getting back up to forth spot with Yao doing great or should I say his usual and synder back in the lineup will help the team so much more but most of all hopefully by then bozi will be comfortable enough with the team to score 15+ consistantly and if Tmac comes in even after all-star then well u know the rest...

and if we could go to playoffs without tmac Im all for it!! and then have tmac come in in playoffs to drive to go deep in playoffs (of-course tmac would be practicing and working out with the team. That way he'll be healthy and more energetic come playoff time.

YallMeam, you are touching on the truth, even though you are distraught over the matter.
For some reason the tactics/game plan was not to involve Yao in the early part of the game. This break away from our standard plan caused Yao Ming to be wandering and trying to do things to be part of the game. The crazy situation was possibly caused because of these changes which JVG had implemented.
Of course the Guard play could have brought this change about independent of any instruction from JVG.
