Great. And probably tack on a few more weeks for him to get back into game shape.

Basically, our season has gone from "Hey, we have a shot at the title" to "Should we tank or make a push for the playoffs?"

"explosiveness"? I like Yao, but he seems to lose out on most jump balls to guys much shorter than him. How is he explosive?

As long as the Rockets make the playoffs, regardless of the seed, and Yao and TMac are healthy and fresh, we'll be fine.

Yeah, Yao's future is not what concerns me. It's T-Mac's. The guy looks like damaged goods at this point and you can't build a team around a player like that. Hell, if anyone knows that first-hand it's T-Mac from his days in Orlando.

The Rockets have to think long and hard about where they wanna go with this team. They're gonna get a high draft pick more than likely with Yao scheduled to miss nearly half the season with this injury. But the T-Mac situation needs to be resolved.

Thanks rim for sharing your personal experience, I feel much better now. But we may want to seriously think about tanking the season if T-Mac isn't getting any better.

We need to be a 50 ball club before Yao comes back to have a chance to make the play off. Me think not likely.
Why, because we not only lost a offensive machine, but also an great wall of interior defense. Deke can give us 10 good minute every other games. You already see how Brand ate us. The season is finished as far as I concern. Move on folks.
Fxxk this is like the shortest season ever.

I dont know what to do or think, Last night was the best game i ever went too that was not in the nba finals and today i go through the possibility of a repeat of last year.

It sucks that this season is turning ot the way that it is, But honestly i dont think this will hamper Yao in the long term.

    Oden,we are coming!!
    ......
What a joke of these two years...

May be Tmac is versatile as before,
but now we need a superman to score Yao's points, about 27 per game.
    Who is the One?
    Battier?
    Head?
    Wells?
Each one seems possible but, serously, not Chucky!!
    Please!!

    Incidentally, I want to say:
God , I want to f**k your mother.

I don't think so either. The Rockets Fan Feedback show on 610 projected Yao to miss somewhere around 38 games, or just under half the season. The Rockets will be lucky to win 8 of those games if T-Mac ain't around.

If they decide to tank, a top five pick is within their reach(barring a lucky bounce from a ping pong ball). The question now becomes when do they start playing for ping pong balls.

    Merry Christmas

and I wonder if someone already changed their signature to

    2007-08 HOUSTON ROCKETS

and well, I guess that the rowdies will still be there next year, and our role players too.

well i'm officially depressed. the best news i can hope for now is that yao comes back from this as good as new and from what i've read that atleast seems likely.

i don't even want to think about the rest of this season.

CRAPOLLA! Oh well....ping pong balls are in our future! :( Simple math: Tough schedule + NO T-Mac with brokeback + Yao with crack knee = SCREWED!!!! :(

Well the "analysts" on ESPN saind that since it is requiring rest to heal it's not so bad. If it would have required surgery then it would be serious.

I can believe I'm aleaving my gloom with ESPN talking heads. :(

i guess this is all bad karma b/c yao cussed out the clippers last time. jk

but for real, i just hope tmac can come back and lead us soon. hopefully the sense of urgency will help him forget about his back problems?

Looks like 2004-05 was the best chance this team had... I LOVED that team.

    Sura
    Wesley
    Yao
    Howard = Spoon
    McGrady.

At the very least, this should keep Yao's feet healthy for the entire season... I always worry about that more with men his size, and the amount of extra burden he was taking on w/out T-mac made a stress injury more likely.

This was a freak thing... you can talk about curses all you want... but Yao will come back from this fine.
