You can't compare this way. You should imagine both Kobe and Odom be out.... Both Yao & TMac are out now....

Go hit Kobe with your car and then we can talk. Otherwise just step away.

Maybe this helps the Rockets in the medium to long term. I doubt they would last long in the Western Conf playoffs with the current roster even if Yao's healthy. Not with T-Mac being the shell of a player he was before. Now younger players will get more playing time which they wouldn't otherwise with VanGundy. Wells would probably still be inactive if McGrady hadn't been hurt. And now the Rockets can qualify for the lottery and get a better pick to help in future.

Wouldn't Kevin Durant or Greg Oden look great in a Rockets uniform? I'd say the odds of the Rockets are better at drafting one of them than they are of getting consistent contributions from Tracy McGrady.

as upset as I am with the injury i have accepted it now its time to see what tracy and coach will do. (note i dont think thomas did it on purpose but the way he rolled yao over probably made it worse, he didnt have to do that)

tmac has now had 2 weeks off, i dont question his desire or determination but its hard to me to accept it when i see his shooting hoops, on talk shows and all, but not on the court. its frustrating.

i have been one of the biggest van gundy backers since he came into houston but now will be his greatest challenge. with yao out for a good chunk of time and tracy being day to day can he totally restructure his offense to suit the players he had on the court? the second half of the game was painfully clear that the offense is nothing without one of the two in there. i dont blame him for tonight game because it is hard to design a whole new scheme on the fly like that. but he has a few days now for practice and thinking what to do. the rebounding suffered without yao in there who takes up so much space even if he doesnt rebound. mutumbo could replace that but then its 4 vs 5 offensively. could novak get a little more time because of his height?

right now the ball is in van gundys court, he has been dealt a bad hand but if mcgrady is back than this team is more than capable of playing good competitive above 500 ball if he changes his offense up, but that is the only way to do it. i think the team can play a much more uptempo game without yao but it will be perimeter orientated.

there is good and bad try to focus on the good, i think we can still make the playoffs as a 6-8 seed if mcgrady is good for the rest of the year. the other guys all need to step up thought esp bonzi since he our only legitimate post threat now.

i feel really bad for yao he lost any chance had now for MVP

come on guys...look on the brightside...it's time for battier and bonzi to leave their supporting roles and really step up...bonzi has been showing steady progress lately maybe except for tonight...and when all the fat is burned off his ass...i'm sure he'll be a 15-point a game guy...alston-mcgrady/head-wells-battier-hayes/mutumbo...that lineup doesnt sound so bad...

My God. This team just does not have any luck right now. What's so sad is that we have the talent to be one of the best teams in the league.

You may have a point here. However, it is depressing to have a injury-cursed year, it is more depressing to have two continuously. This plainly sucks.

Oh jeeez put some light in front of you're thinking. yes this is bad news but the brightside is others stepping up. this gives JVG a better look on how to work his bench and once Yao comesback the team will understand how to use certain rotations.

a Laker fan should not tell you that you will be okay you guys should know you will thats why you're a fan.

The problem is that Houston is already without TMac, Yao, and Kirk Snyder, who were 3 of the projected starting five on opening day. Battier is a career ~10/5 guy and Head is the weakest link on defense. Every team in the NBA will post him up.

Bonzi Wells will have to play out of his mind to give Houston a chance at the playoffs, and he is out of shape. Playing Mutombo and Hayes means that teams will only attempt to guard Rafer, Head, and Battier, and none of those guys are great at getting their own shots.
