Correa saying that stuff just reinforces the idea that he is about show, the fame. Altuve is humble. Springer is genuine. Bregs is a baseball rat. Brantley is a pro. Verlander is the ultimate pro. Correa comes off as an uber talented prima donna
He’s probably going to need a week’s worth of games regardless. I’d still say him playing in the all star game wouldn’t be “bad” for him, and if he’s starting he gets 2 AB’s and 4 innings against superior competition than AA.
I was thinking, if MLB teams gave 4-5 players captain badges (like the NFL), I imagine ours being JV, Altuve, Springer, and Bregman (and maybe one of Pressly/Brantley/Chirinos of the "newer" guys). Not Correa, for those reasons. Just what I imagine.
The move to the 60 is retroactive to whenever he was put on the 10-day. This just gives them an extra 40 spot for Sneed and they can activate Smith whenever he's ready.
That is correct, but what it also means is that when Smith is activated, someone has to come off the 40 man, so somebody is going trhough waivers.
Not certain, but I think if the player was optioned/in the minors when he was injured, he can be transferred to the 60 Day IL without accruing service time.
per the postgame: Alvarez had an MRI and worked with the trainers, waiting on the results. Said he felt something while planting his leg in the OF. Hopes it's a day-to-day thing.
