    Code enforcement is generally not the issue. It's the problems that show up a decade later due to building to the lowest standard acceptable.

    As an architect I don’t work in single family homes but I’ve seen plenty of new homes that are shoddy and violate building codes.

    Single family homes has always been an area where code enforcement has been lax for a variety of reasons. This is an area where buyers really need to be careful with inspections.

    an op-ed on Bloomberg from the former NY Fed President, Bill Dudley

    last Wed, Fed Chair Powell indicated that the Fed won't wait until PCE at 2 % to cut; The Fed’s next policy meeting is at the end of July.

    Hence whey Trump has went public to say that he wants to keep Powell. Basically saying wink wink... don't cut rates so I have a better shot at winning. Trump is an idiot but he knows that if rates are finally lowered a bit the economy which is already singing will be supercharged going right into the election.

    Not news; anyone who watches the housing market knows that it flatlined a few months ago.

    PCE data doesn't account for retailers reacting to customer backlash, on social media, to their price gouging / "shrinkflation" practices;

    Newsflash. 3% inflation is the goldilocks inflation rate. Not too hot, not too cold.

    The US GDP grew by 2.8% in Q2. This (along with the 3% annual inflation rate) means we were able to avoid the major recession.

    Are you saying you want deflation? I'd love you hear you go into detail how deflation is good for the economy. Please go ahead.

    Worst market day I can remember in a long time. DOW has dropped 944 points so far.

    A big economic downturn right before the election might have a big impact on events.

    MAGA will never admit the economy is back on track. Inflation is back to a healthy 3%, GDP is growing. But "muh eggs!".

    What are they proposing? Deflation? Do they even know what deflation does to an economy? Hahahahahaha

    Yes. I want radical deflation. So I can use my hoarded gold coins and omega supplements I bought from fox infomercials to rule in the aftermath. I’ll be wealthy and have top tier grip strength.

    Inflation isn't necessarily bad.

    What Americans feel is when their wages haven't risen proportionately to cumulative inflation post-lockdown. They've been trained to spend on credit and will shop till they drop.

    Higher cost of living is enough to tank an incumbency, but the other guy hasn't given any real policies to convince voters that he's ba stable genius.

    Won’t really help. The workmanship is poor and that isn’t obvious always. For example they higher subcontractors that half ass the plumbing by using a cheaper glue from China, that leaks in a handful of years… they don’t spend the time to align the pipes and shower drain the right way and that results in a slow leak that causes huge damage… by the time anything happens, the subcontractor is gone…. New homes are very poorly built in the USA and some of the roll backs on requirements have made it worse… let’s not even get into the grade of the land being rushed and improper resulting in flooding…. Also, in a lot of states the subcontractors are hiring Venezuelans with no back ground in construction. These guys work hard, but they don’t know how to do roofing or carpentry and while they eventually learn, they learn the fast and easy way to do it.
