fans are fans...love you 1 day...hate you the other. that's the nature of professional sports. i don't think it's anything personal ....or permanent
and jefferson ain't no joke. those who watch bb know this. the guy is a producer when he gets to play. they stole him in that trade.
Ask yourself this, why is there so much hate for McGrady? Guys on this site are divided so your going to get fake fans who claim to be Rockets fans but don't like the Rockets.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl...tistics?sort=per&qual=true&pos=c&seasonType=2 Yeah, let's go trade the guy that's second on PER amongst all centers that gets his numbers even though: 1) He plays with 2 other players that demand the ball and more often than not take 20-30% more shots 2) Constantly plays against double-triple teams on a nightly basis 3) Plays all year long EVERY YEAR 4) Has come off an injury from the year before 5) Has Rafer Alston as his PG Maybe that's why Morey is the GM and people on this board are stuck in entry-level positions...
^^^^^^^ Also want to add: It's a whole lot easier to put numbers on a bad team than a playoff-bound team that still learning to play together.
ive always thought of jefferson as a young zach randolph/shareef abdur rahim. consistent low post scorer but needs to be first option to be effective.
Al Jefferson is a slightly better Jermaine O'Neal. Good post 4, but not a franchise player. Re: Hate on Yao Lesson one in the Apologist Handbook: deflect blame onto anyone else. Battier's scoring, Rafer's shooting percentages, Artest's disappointing play, or the fact that Yao isn't Hakeem. Conveniently ignore the fact McGrady is 90% of the Rocket's problem this season.
and aren't afraid to double him because of the players around him Rafer cant shoot, Battier wont shoot or Slash, and T-mac wont drive
IMO I think a lot of people on this board just can't handle any criticism about their "hero" Yao. There are plenty of times I get frustrated with the guy and criticize him in a fair manner, but then I will see a whole bunch of people get offended as if I just insulted their family. While on the other side (to a lesser extent) there are a lot of immature fans who just straight up hate Yao and say things that crosses the line.
well, one day, when yao is gone, us fans will look back and realize that he cared as much about the Rox as us fans did, probably a whole lot more. You can hate his game, hate his shortcomings, but you can't hate his character.
This is great. I think Yao would do better in a new environment where he can "start over"...leave everything behind and have his mind fresh, but he wouldn't leave. Yao is too great a guy. I really hope he steps up in the playoffs
1. true 2. So does every other dominant center in the league 3. extremely false statement. 4. So? That should make him less valuable, if anything.. 5. Yeah ok... and for comparison, Jefferson has Sebastian Telfair who is Rafer Alston light
Yao is an extremely good player. I love the guy, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. He has some glaring faults, but overall, I am content with him
You are content with having Yao on your team? That's good to know. How would we Rockets fans live with ourselves if you were disappointed? Personally, I'd lose sleep. I'm content with you being an American and having access to the internet. Not proud or excited, but am not going to kill myself about it - content. I'm no Yao-apologist, but come on
So you would trade a dominant player on a playoff bound and possibly championship contending team for another player who put up good statistics on a lottery bound team? Are you out of your mind?
We out-rebounded them 51-39. Why do you care so much about the statistics of a certain player? So you don't care about the team at all? Why are you here then? This is a Rockets team website. All we care is the Rockets got 51 rebounds and the Wolves got 39. That's what it's all about. You should go to AlJeffersonmania.com or ************* if you care about their personal statistics that much.
You dont know what you are talking about. The closest 'big' with Al's post moves is Duncan. And he has a reliable mid-range jump shot to boot.
Good "franchise" players turn teams around, not set a record for worst records in franchise history, ala Kevin Durant and company.
