It tells us that the school was secular. Do you understand what that word means?

What is wrong with someone going to an Islamic school anyway?

Everyone can see what TJ's implied intention is.

I grew up in the military and went to school on military bases until high school, was raised Baptist and went to church camps. Went to public schools in Texas. No problems.

But a secular, Muslim ELEMENTARY school 40 years ago?

    terrorist....

Who cares? I mean, it's not like he was writing for the Washington Post or something. It's the freakin internet. Sad and pathetic? yeah....if he was trying to build people's esteem then yeah. But if he did just to mess with yall - man, that's classic. I appreciate that stuff.

Although, I think all his views are meant to just rile all of you up. I mean, who can honestly think like that???? It's gotta be a joke

Actually I worked with a guy that had the exact same views as Basso. He would send out republican propaganda pieces all day long. What's funny is that he would send these pieces as if they were his original work.

Their views and writing styles were so similar that I thought they were the same person for while.

You mean Republicans might try to dig up past indiscretions by an opposing candidate? No, the humanity! Actually, the irony humors me.

Obama's already fessed up to doing drugs in his younger days. What was that, gasp...a candidate being candid about his past. I'll be waiting....

Actually, the fact that the school was not a 'madrassa' school tells you alot. I'm sure I don't have to tell you the difference between a 'madrassa' and any other ole Muslim school.

But just in case, Madrassa's are responsible for filling millons of young Muslims with hate and violence. They teach the most fundamental form of Islam and believe in the strict interpretation of the Koran.

If you can't see the difference between a school that preaches Wahhabism, and one that teaches a moderate form of Islam then perhaps all those who attended Muslim school are terrorists?

Is Obama a Muslim spy? Or maybe he's just the next coming of the anti-christ?

Oh wait, no...it's just that he's actually a threat to the status quo mockery we call an administration, that's it.

Just for you TJ. The Senator's office has just emailed out a blistering memo targeting Fox that says the following:

TJ is batting nearly .1000 at having everything he posts shown to be wholly inaccurate.

It has been a tough stretch for TJ lately.

A partial list includes him claiming that Saddam broke treaties with the U.S.

Claiming that Berger never stood trial for his documents fiasco

Claiming Obama went to the Madrassa

Claiming that raising the minimum wage would hurt hiring and the economy

    etc.

Faux News really has become a joke. How anyone can watch it with a straight face is beyond me. Never mind siting it as a reputable news source.

    ------------------------
Fox’s Gibson: CNN Reporter Who Debunked Obama Smear Probably Went To The Same Madrassa

On his radio show this week, Gibson refused to back down. He claimed the CNN reporter who debunked the false report “probably went to the very madrassa” as Obama. Gibson implied that CNN’s report had covered up religious extremism at the school:

yes it is bizarre that all of the "journalists" at Fox took a report without a single named source, an didn't bother to check up on it. Now that someone other journalists have done the investigating that the Fox folks should have done in the first place, they are choosing to jut not believe it.

Fox is humerous in how low their journalistic standards are. It makes it even more funny when they mock the Times.

The sad thing is that CNN has a lot of piss-poor journalism as well, and yet they did their job on this one.

It's not bizarre and they didn't just "choose" to not believe it and their low journalistic standards aren't humorous. It's part of their MO and whether something is true or not is not as important as the propaganda value and they are not journalists. They all knew it was untrue from the beginning.

You're giving them way too much credit and leeway with the words you chose... they are literally poisoning our discourse intentionally.

Not only that, but if CNN was a news organization worth a tinker's continental damn, they'd be hammering Fox News for doing this crap. Just hammering them. Why they aren't exposes just how cowardly they've become. They're too busy being the People Magazine of cable news. A damn shame. I used to have a lot of respect for them (CNN), but that's been gone for quite some time.

This should be its own thread.

I've been skeptical of Obama, but this impresses me as great policy and brilliant politics. The health care crisis has reached a boiling point and the public is ready for a major restructuring of the system. Obama is simultaneously grabbing the healthcare reform brand and hitting Hillary where it hurts by highlighting her own failure on this issue.

    Very smart.
