this to me was alittle misinformed, I refer to myself as an American, no more, no less.

my family has been here since 1724. i think we are more proud of what state we live in today, not which country our ancestors came from.

I dont think its meant as an insult as much as an informative statement saying that interracial marriages, mixed cultures are a normal thing. Unlike in India.

this whole article is stupid. is it an actual newspaper article or just a reader's letter to the newspaper? whatever it is, its just one person's viewpoint.

what, indians from india arent fussy about hygiene also? people from india dont use these things (shampoo, soap etc) regularly and frequently too? its stupid to say/assume that they dont use these things on a daily basis.

btw, the use of shampoo originated in india. the word, shampoo, is derived from the indian (hindi) word, "Champna".

deodorant use may not be as widespread in india, but it isnt in much of the rest of the world either, including europe. but there are many that do use it. never understood why this stereotype was just extended to people from india/pakistan/middle east and not to people from other parts of the world. anway, deodarant use is relatively new in the US also. (The first anti-perspirant aerosol deodorant was launched in 1965)

They need to add an addendum (did I spell that right Aceshigh7?) wholly centered on Texas. I can honestly say that I have traveled the world and seen the very worst in the slums of Honduras Mexico and Guatemala and the best in Italy, Austria and Great Britain not to mention coast to coast in the US.

there is simply NO precedent in the world for the pride and sense of self that I have encountered which Native and even trasnplanted Texans exibit on a daily basis. don't get me wrong, there is plently I don't like about our great state but to me it's like haveing a little brother. I can pick on him but you better not even look at him funny or it's on.
