After seeing the Daily Show interview/promotion that Harrison Ford did for his Firewall movie, I'm not very psyched to see this. He was just a grumpy, bitter old man. I'm not saying that I won't see it, but the reviews will have to be pretty solid for me to go shell out cash at the movie theater.
If Slyvestor Stalone can pull off a new Rocky movie - I think Spielberg and Harrison Ford make this work.
Yeah but the big difference I see here is that Rocky V was such a sour note and Sly seemed genuine in his desire for the character to go out on the right note, and correct the flaws from that film. That's not the case with Indy as Crusade was a fine addition to the franchise, in fact I think it just edges Raiders as my favorite. So I'm really wondering what their motivation here is...long after the window seemingly closed for this sequel. But hey if it looks great I'm game. Indy's a great character and franchise...I just don't want it s**t upon by making a sequel that doesn't live up to its predecessors (Lethal Weapon 4 anyone).
Because there are no more original ideas in Hollywood anymore, and if there are they are very few and far between.
This is so unnecessary. We already have the National Treasure franchise going. They should just let poor Indy rest in peace.
Ford, as much greatness as he once had, is over the hill, he hasn't made anything interesting for a while and he just seems to have lost a step. I'd love Indy 4 to be great, but I think its just too late. Lucas also doesn't inspire much confidence in me as he has also failed to match his past success. I'm looking forward more to Iron Man for May 2008.
Is it going to be a franchise? I admit I loved the first one and would like to see more. I must have seen it on the movie channels at least a dozen times and I still put down the remote and watch it when I come across it. It's like some sort of Pavlovian response.
I think Spielberg and Co. will do a solid job on this film -- especially if they use that cool ancient spaceship angle. Harrison Ford is kind of in the same shape as Sly Stalone -- he needs a big comeback film, his movies have been terrible for quite a while now.
It's official: Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/376265/indiana_jones_and_the_kingdom_of_the.html Also confirmed w/ Wikipedia.
Here is scene spoiler I found: Spoiler In the scenes shot in early September, Indiana Jones is blackmailed by the Russian Army as they are both searching for a crucifix skull in the jungles of South America. Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) is threatened to be killed and they then take Indiana Jones hostage and find the skull. The Russian soldiers celebrate Indy’s capture by dancing to balalaika folk music next to a campfire. We see Indiana Jones being interrogated inside a tent, where he is strapped to a chair. We can confirm that Cate Blanchett is to play the Russian interrogator.
Looks awesome. I'm going to reverse my earlier opinion- I'm excited for it. Wish they would have filmed three films ala Lord of the Rings. Harrison ain't got much left in the tank.
That man scene where he swings and then misses the truckand falls into the one with the enemies is pure classic Indie Jones. I laffed out loud for that part
All my friends have criticized this movie for the last 3+ years, but Ive kept an open mind. Looks like I may be the only one not eating crow...Looks good!
The CGI bits reminded me of Mummy Returns. I didn't think it was a great teaser by any means, but looking back, none of the Indy teasers were anything special. It's the movie itself that matters though.
