you mean mickey leland right? I believe it's one e.

Jordan was a true trailblazer, but not even she made it to governer. Anyway, I don't see why you have to diminish what a man accomplishes.

If you really want to draw a parellel, why don't you mention Wilder - now that was a man who showed us a thing or two about race.

 i'm sorry that your issues are preventing you from discussing things rationally. are you denying that many minorities blame their race for their station in life? If not you need to do a reality check.

NewYorker is at his funniest when he corrects spelling and grammar. For someone that pretends he makes his money with his communication skills, he is an exceptionally poor writer.

Also, he forgot Doug Wilder. And J.C. Watts.

again, no one diminished what he did

YOU are the one who is claiming he has done something never been done before. the guy is a freakin govenor, that's an accomplishment itself. you are the one who tried to make the point about race saying its not about race.

either its an accoplishment because of race, so race means something or its not.

I doubt white Southerners consider Indians to be white whatever some technical terminology may exist.

they do not. they do not take gov't hand-outs ya know. that's the whole point, the taught young bobby well from the get go. they moved off the reservation and kicked the bottle. we're going to change his name from dances with hindus to bobby j, and no more peace pipe for him.

now, bobby j can kick all of them of the reservations and make sure all people stop getting hand outs and start kicking butt in life.
