My cousins in India of course know how the rest of the world views India every time a rape is reported internationally. They acknowledge there is a problem of course, but say its like judging the rest of the US every time a mass shooting is reported.

Yeah, again, the story that they left their infant daughter alone when they went to vote is highly suspect on its own.

That article also says the father is an alcoholic and accused someone of raping his wife last year, getting Rs 10,000 from the accused to drop the charges.

Police sources said a previous medical examination had failed to establish that the infant had been raped and even the circumstantial evidence did not point to the role of the accused in the case. Police said that last year, the girl’s father, who was an alcoholic, had accused another villager of raping his wife and had finally agreed to resolve the matter after the accused paid him Rs 10,000 as compromise.

Well, on my last trip I went as south as Karnataka. I highly doubt Kerala (while I heard its nice) and Tamil Nadu are vastly different.

Man even the first sentence for this video is full of BS

    1) "India is the largest democracy on earth". It's an extremely flawed democracy. Corruption is rampant & according to Transparency International it's basically on par with that of China. On top of this, there's rampant "paid news" problem in India in which politicians, companies, or celebrities pay newspaper & TV stations (with $$$ or with equity) to create BS "news" that's nothing more than paid advertisement (fake favorable news articles about politicians, fake news articles about the effectiveness of certain products, housing developments project etc)

2)" advanced growing economy". Huh? since when did India became an advanced economy?

    3) "highly educated population". Say what? India is ranked 105 out of 128 countries in terms of UN's education development index. Ranked 168 out of 230ish countries in terms of literacy. Ranked 2nd last in PISA's assessment of reading, math & scientific abilities for 15 year old students. Even the best Indian colleges don't compare favorably to colleges from other developing nations.
