I have to admit, the early Super Bowl commerical didn't do much for me, but I think they've tweaked the computer effects since then. I'm actually looking forward to the movie. Ang Lee will do a good job. (Remember that some of those "Spidey"-shots weren't too realistic either, but it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the film.) Now, just how will they manage the Fantastic 4 when the time comes?
At least with Spiderman the computer animation was somewhat believable. With Hulk it looks fake and TOTALLY cheesy. Why the hell would he grow 100 feet tall and start hurdling mountains? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Funny...I thought he was wearing those baggy rapper-style blue jeans. When he turns, he just fills them in. Otherwise, he's rapper MJ Bruce Banner(or whatever his name is).
Well, in the comics, he is big and strong enough to toss tanks around. The Hulk in the tv show was an ant compared to the comic book version. I do think there are some shots where he looks bigger than he should be, but I read that in this movie, the angrier the Hulk gets, the bigger and greener he becomes.
ummmm... last that i checked, "mj" was spidey's nickname for mary jane. try mc bruce banner or og bruce banner.
Actually, I believe his getting bigger\greener as he gets angrier is the whole premise of the comic as well. Say what you will about the effects, sounds like they were just staying true to the original story. They obviously couldn't find an actor to accurately portray it. "The Hulk" sounds like a sneak-into, rental, or wait-for-it-to-be-on-cable movie, I won't be dropping $8 to see it.
LMAO! Here's some insider information. They filmed a lot of the scenes at nearby Lawrence Berkeley Labs. I have some buddies who work there, and they received a Bulk Hulk email that informed them that they had lost all their parking spots for three weeks. The email included "two additional points" that went something like this. 1) In answer to your first question, NO, you will not be able to see the hulk on our grounds. He will be computer generated. 2) In answer to your second question, NO, the film does not need "extras" in the form of lab-coat wearing scientists. Please go about your work as normal.
The Hulk doesn't look too great for me either. I liked the television show though. I especially hated the scene they showed where Hulk leaped like 6 miles through the Grand Canyon.
Every time I see the preview to The Hulk, JV or my brother give it the thumbs down but for some strange reason I want to watch this movie. I saw a few episodes of the show as a kid and wasn't crazy about it. I don't care for comic books. I don't have a think for big, green, violent men. But the movie looks like fun - in the same sentiment as Legally Blond 2. Oddly enough, I keep hearing older women like my mother in-law mentioning they want to see it. I doubt this was the target audience.
Lol! Just the comparison the movie execs wanted to hear! Unfortunately, their 15 year-old boy target audience will probably watch Legally Blond 2 and then sneak into The Hulk afterwards. That guy is even skinnier than me! Don't bash the canyon scene yet -- it's possible there is a perfectly good justification for it within the plot of the movie. CGI people do look terrible -- it looked bad here, in Spiderman and in Reloaded. I suppose we have to go trhu the growing pains now if they are going to be able to do it well in the future. I still don't understand why my wife wants to see this. It can't be worse than Reloaded though and I paid good money for that.
In spiderman 2 they swung cameras thru the city. Should create an interesting effect. I trust Hulk. He looked pretty good to me. Not as bad as some are making him out to be. at worst, this may help the gaming indistry with their graphics right?
