The owners want a system that works for all teams, the players want to take ZERO risk and have it all.

I don't blame the owners one bit for taking a stand for the health of their own business.

Good for them...if it takes a season, so what...just get it right.

Union should have at least let rank and file vote!

Wait, what? Really, they think that the owners will cave before the ink on the lawsuits dry?

I don't think this is over......this is all posturing.......but I also believe the owners want it fixed, and they have been legally cooking their books for the court case for years.

They are losing money, can show it, and will kill the union in the courts.

NHL style of deal here we go.....and the players just screwed themselves.

The owners are a lot smarter than the players......there is a reason they own those teams.....

They havent filed it in yet right?

Can the owners make a final deal or probably not?

Lost season = many lost fans = many players out of shape = going downhill

It's gonna be interesting to see what happens from here on. Owner's response won't be subtle AT ALL

Now that I've given up on the season and this has turned into entertainment, let's have some spectacular legal fireworks. My preference is for the owners to smash the union (or "trade association") into dust. Second choice is for the union to win treble damages.

This may as well be fun to watch. Considering the Texans' success, my sports craving will be satisfied by the NFL and college football.

I'll also give college BB a legit try after figuring out who to follow and what to pay attention to.

The NFL tried the trade association rout and it worked so well for them

I really hope Stern comes back with something tonight, but in all likelihood the players are screwed.

Pretty much what I said. Owners should have let off the press a while ago and gave the Players something to be happy about.

I wanted a season as much as anyone, but at this point I hope the players take it up the proverbial ass in court.

I'm not even sure if it's possible, but I hope this somehow opens the door for non-guaranteed contracts. That alone would be worth missing the season.

Could Stern come back with a better offer tonight? Maybe. But every indication, public and private, is that he and the owners won't.

Once union leadership saw that players didn't want this deal, would decertify, they climbed on board the dissolving of union.

This sucks for the arena workers, pretty much lost their jobs.

Sucks for the rookies who entered the draft, will have a stalled development and JOBLESS as of now unless they go overseas

Sucks for the fans, we are going to lose a lot of fans now

The players will get a worse deal then today, they will get LIT up, SMH at the players.

The vast majority of owners wanted a season. Stern had the votes to approve this deal. The NBPA didn't have the courage to let it's members choose.

They did it right away, if the NBA did it right away, I think this would have been over by now.....

But by waiting until November, I think they killed at least half a season if not the entire thing.

And the NFL was all profitable, the NBA is not.....the owners can institute their own system now.....

We are going to hear a lot of players whining about it not being "FAIR".....lol....like life is fair....they should have taken the deal, now I hope guaranteed contracts are gone, a hard cap is instituted, and franchise tags are added.
