C'mon you know better than that. That would be the rational thing to do. And these negotiations have been all but rational.

UPDATE: After conferring with owners on the labor relations committee, commissioner David Stern was prepared to deliver a revised proposal to the union Thursday night based on the deal points negotiated over the past two days, a person with knowledge of the plans confirmed to CBSSports.com. The revised proposal, first reported by Yahoo Sports, was not the so-called "reset" proposal threatened if talks broke down, the person said.

Excuse me for being out of the loop, but if and when proposes this new deal to the Union, will it be a voting process where the Union gives it to the 400+ players and if the majority vote for it, will it then get passed or do Hunter and Fisher look at it and just reject or approve of it on behalf of the players?

New offer presumably aimed at addressing union concerns w/system. Question is, how far are owners moving and is it enough? OK, that's two Qs

Given the late date, the ultimatum threat made earlier in week, etc, I have to believe this will be NBA's last, best offer. We'll see.

Hope? ownership source says revised offer will give players "meaningful stuff" while staying at 50/50 BRI. Called talks "complicated."

Meeting has wrapped. Players speaking first. Assuming they broke up so union can digest revised proposal.

Union first, then league. Certainly do not expect to hear of any breakthroughs tonight. Only question is whether they keep talking Friday.

Would expect union leadership will study proposal overnight, confer with players and meet with NBA again on Friday. No confirmation though.

After reviewing, Fisher says NBA's offer isn't enough "to try and entice us to finish this out tonight." Players will step back, confer.

Dime Live seems to interpret it as they need to sell these current changes to players

Fisher: We've worked at it for the as couple of days. Right now we have ... a revised proposal from the NBA. It does not meet us entirely.

D.Fisher said owners revised offer did not meet players' needs, so they walked away to reassess. Now question is whether Stern pulls offer

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Fisher: Not enough progress to get a deal done.

    KBergCBS Ken Berger
Fisher: Don't know if they characterized it as their las, best offer.
