Hunter says sides aren't agreed on 50-50 revenue split, but that's semantics. They'll say nothing's agreed until a deal. But they're there.

This. Ric Bucher just said the same thing.
If they just met for 12 hours and didn't get much accomplished, why should we believe they'll get it done tomorrow?

Agree Clutch, this is getting a bit ridiculous. I don't think a deal is gonna get done anytime soon.

the only good thing thus far after todays meeting is they both are saying the same thing pretty much. "Not much done, will meet 2morrow" kinda vibe instead of one side claiming this and the other claiming something else.

Usually both sides are talking about how horrible the other side is right about now.

Do you think Stern is foreshadowing the agreement by saying "Have a good night sleep, we will go at it tomorrow."

Hope they just don't want premature optimism talk to spoil things before deal is finalized.

Source in room, when asked midway through negotiations if a deal could get done, said of NBA group, "Don't think they have the authority."

    sam_amick Sam Amick
Not saying it will get done, but I'm told a relevant dynamic is Stern et al taking these discussions back to their group.

Progress was made on three system issues, source tells Y! Sports

This is so solvable but certain people have to be little less intractable!!!!

Hearing some progress on mid-level, but not sure what, yet.

"There was absolutely movement today, enough to come back at it tomorrow," source in talks says.

So many of the system issues are linked, so it's a high-wire act of give-and-take to get them ironed out.

Everyone has to accept the fact that it is always a pyretic settlement in all these matters.

Okay. Progress made on 3 of 5 system issues, according to source. MLE still a problem. And a couple of new issues added to mix.

The fact they're going right back at it tomorrow tells me there's been progress, no matter how little. It's better than the results of the previous meetings where they come out with greater divide.

After calling deal within "striking distance" a few weeks ago, union's determined to under sell progress to keep players off rollercoaster.

Not clear if new issues will be problematic on their own, or can be solved if the other system issues get fixed.

Meanwhile, source says players "ready to go" with disclaimer of interest filing w/NLRB if talks break down. Different from decertification.

This remains a tenuous process but the owners wouldn't have, as Stern termed it,, "stopped the clock," without real progress. Onto Thursday.

As far as BRI, union is at 50. Negotiations on system are predicated on that number; league wouldn't talk about system changes otherwise.

1 morsel of hope today: ending talks relatively early allows more time Thu. to try & break thru-or at least keep clock stopped until Fri.

If he was owned, I have to laugh. In fairness though, I suppose we could say Woj's sources were accurate, but Hunter does not want to say so in a press conference. Twitter must be a whole new ballgame for these reporters. You have to release info so quickly (to compete), then hope the press conference confirms your sources. But it doesn't seem to work that way.

Hence, Woj's summary Twitter after the Conference:

The best we can hope for is for them just to keep talking and then some more talking. They need to make sure the talks go into the weekend. 7-10 days worth of continuous serious talks will get a deal done for sure.

So far its been stop ans start. This stopping and starting is killing the process.
