    I was there too...and thought it was completely meaningless since every group on campus had dances near campus for eons before I ever got there. It was such a non-story to me, because I couldn't think of a venue where you would want to have a dance on that campus.

    I've heard that dogs are considered unclean animals since they do things like eat poop. I read that in Singapore in the early days of government housing pet dogs were a bit of a problem between Malay and Chinese residents. Muslim Malay residents weren't allowed to live in ethnic enclaves and were mixed in with the rest of the population so they had to deal with Chinese neighbors who kept dogs as pets. This would be a problem when the dogs would sniff around a Malay's flat or when a Chinese walking a dog would enounter a Malay.

    That's interesting. Muslims like to keep their prayer areas pretty sacred, so I can imagine it would be a problem if a dog walked into someone's house and marked their territory. If you're ever in the Middle East you'll notice that cats are pretty common since they're considered much cleaner. Hell, I'd even say they have a stray cat problem in the bigger cities.
