Take pill, then hook up brain to device to simulate eating when I feel like it. Or whatever special technology we have at a time when we can get a whole day's worth of nutrition from a single pill (and presumably no side effects, unforeseen problems, produced efficiently/cleanly/safely, etc.).

Pill for sure. So much time saved from cooking, eating, pooping. No worries about food poisoning.

Delicious seafood gumbo is one of the great joys of being alive. No pill can be seafood gumbo. I prefer food. Love going out to eat with family and friends.

You'd still have to poop to excrete other wastes.

Think about all the time you would have to just go out with them. You mention all this time to eat with family. You don't mention the two hours your mother spent alone preparing and cooking that she spent with no one as you watched Scooby Doo.

    Really? Like what?

I'm sure it'll be much less frequent, though.

We'd have more time to spend on .... doing what?

I'm annoyed by people enough AS-IS. You'd give people MORE TIME to be ANNOYING?

If you don't have to do things necessary for survival, or there's no laws regulations that ensures all the resources are hoarded and maintained by a certain few and people have to EARN THEIR food and shelter, it just leaves people to do more weird stuff, more Twitter'ing and Tumblring and Chan'ing, and making silly creations and media involving cats and dogs expressing themselves in broken English.

The main thing with food is having it available to all and not hoarded, so there's less danger to society of hungry people doing bad things to others for their own survival. The form of the food doesnt matter as much. But yeah plenty time can be saved.

What about the moms staying home while the husband busts his balls working all day and she spends the rest of free time watching soaps. Or having nannies and maids do all that, all the cooking outsourced.

A food pill might can free farmers from life of drudgery, instead of living a life solely based on around-the-clock food prep. And the cookies, nannies and maids can do other things.

(I think "efficiency" is overrated, basically)

You're talking out of both ends. One side you said people have too much time so you wish they would spend more time preparing food and eating. And the other side you wish farmers would have more time from that.
Either go back to the 19th century or come live with us.
