I would go for a rookie coach: Mario Elie or Kareem Abdul Jabar.

PJax. I think he'd assemble a great team of assistants, too. I think the triangle is the best system for Tmac and Yao - it divides the opposing team and allways gets us a good shot. Pjax is good with getting a lot out of role players. Pjax is a very good defensive coach, though that is often overlooked, and he uses an attacking style with the wings. Pjax has a lot of rings. He is a great coach - not just a motivator, but a guy that can adjust in-game and destroy you with an unexpected and dramatic attack or stifling shutdown. He is a good politician and understands how to work referees, the media, and the league to the maximum benefit of his team.

He's currently doing much better with Kobe and zero help, too.

the mario sounds good. last time the rockets got a coach who played with the rockets, we won 2 championships.
also this brings back LOYALTY to the organization.

Mario Elie or Bobby Knight- Bob Knight would throw a chair at Stromile, which would bounce off Stro's cranium, striking Moochie, causing so much fear in Mooch that he retires, insurance kicks in, the league gives us an exception for Moochie's fear, and we sign a quick point guard-Vernon Maxwell, who assasinates Knight.

We then hire Donnie Nelson and win the next 6 championships-all possible due to Moochie's fear.

Go Mooch you are the man and an accessory coach killer...

Unfortunately I think it took getting rid of Rudy to clarify that Francis was the issue. The Rockets should've stayed with a Rocket.

did anyone noticed that Sam and Cuttino beat up on Steve's orlando magic last night?

His success helped free up Cassell and Cuttino Mobley, who had 26 and 16 points, respectively. Los Angeles shot 53 percent from the field.

Steve Francis led Orlando with 21 points but was only 5-of-13 from the field. Dwight Howard had 15 points and 15 rebounds, but he missed a dunk on a three-on-none fast break in the second quarter.

"Elton hasn't just been good lately, he's been good the whole season," Mobley said. "He's the reason I came here. He makes the job easy."

    #1 rudy t
#2 rick carlisle (the best coach today in my opinion)
    #3 hubie brown

no larry brown (too much drama, you think the offense is stifled and restricted now, ha! see last year vs. this year's pistons)

I would like to see what Phil Jackson and Mike Fratello could do with this team...Fratello and Van Gundy are very alike in terms of philosophy but Mike is more lenient with the offense...

Also, I would LOVE to see what would happen if Doug Collins got a chance to coach this team...not saying that I would want Van Gundy ousted right away, but if the organization learns that JVG's act is wearing thin, then I would try and see how attractive we are to Collins...

the problem with JVG is not his coaching, its looks like he's not having any fun.
Phil and the Czar appear to be relaxed and upbeat. you reflect your coach's attitude.

Rudy was a hard worker with lots of emotion, not frills. Dream, Otis were like that.

JVG is stressed. yao looks like he's not having fun, Tmac has back spasms.

It's so funny that the Rockets fans on this board finally agree that PJ is likely the best coach for this team (or Yao and Mac) after 3 years. ;)
