Dude, the idiocy of these writers is beyond comprehension.

Basically, we are not trading T-Mac unless we get valuable assets for years to come. We are not going to trade him for other people's long term trash or their expirings. He is basically either cap relief or a way to bring a superstar in. I would rather let his contract expire and try to resign him on the cheap than do any of these r****ded trades.

Anyways, why would we trade his expiring contract AND give up an asset like Lowry for just another expiring contract? It makes more sense to just keep T-Mac until his contract is over then.

Stupid media with no knowledge of the situation. All that talk about Morey being a genius and then they present the stupidest trade scenarios that are extremely lopsided in favor of the other team.

We've seen more idiocy about trades on this BBS.

    Cook for Anthony Randolph?
    TMAC for Wade?

This writer is the normal one.

That raised my eyebrow more than the Lowry comment. That's a much better deal. A defensive center, Young is good young wing, and the skies the limit with Speights. Why would we take a busted up center over three good young players?

These journalists are such morons... I swear to god, all sports journalism about would-be trades is utterly worthless. They feign inside knowledge, but they really have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Why people continue to buy into it, I don't know. People need to look at these guys' track records before giving their articles any hits.

Apparently, Morey and some of us here have too high of an estimated value on Tracy.

    LOL on the Lowry throw-in!

That aside, I would jump all over a Dalembert+Young for Tmac trade. It would have to be a 3-way deal though (maybe include NY) because the trade salaries don't work with Dalembert+Young for Tmac.

Dalembert with all of his warts is only on the books for this season and next. So that's not too hard a pill to swallow. But the key piece is Thaddeus Young. He is a quality, talented combo-forward. Might not have quite the upside of Anthony Randolph but they are similar players. If you can move Tmac to get a quality young player with upside without taking on too much added salary in the process then you have to do it.

Why do writers keep trying to trade mcgrady... There is nobody out there that is worth trading for, especially if you have to give up lowery. Mcgrady is better for this team than some expensive player who is way less talented than mcgrady... With Bud out, I bet mcgrady comes through in a great bench role, or gets his starting job back from ariza or Shane.

I'd pull the trigger on a good deal, but I'm starting to think Tracy might be a keeper. He's apparently playing within the team concept, which I never thought would happen, and he's making noises about wanting to stay. If he asks for reasonable money, I'd re-sign him, though I suspect that somebody out there will pay him more than he's worth to us. He will draw fans in a new town. Assuming he plays well, I can see him getting $10 million or more.

Seriously, i wouldn't even trade Lowry straight up for O'neal. Lowry is one of our bulldogs!! Him along with Scola, Battier and Hayes. We lost one of our bulldogs in Artest. We can't afford to lose more...it's going to make this team less aggressive.

People that don't watch Rockets don't realize how valuable Lowry is...so they basically think he's a bench player or scrub or something and think they can just throw him in along with the trade....

I think what's foolish is posters not lookinng big picture in trade scenerios. O'Neal for Tracy is easy, but because O'neal is big that can play and trracy is still battling back, extra compensatory pieces are needed. There is a real chance someone will offer lowry 4m which is too much to be brooks backup. Once he's in the deal and he's a good player, the rockets can ask for something back like arroyo. So now the deal looks like O'Neal and Arroyo for Tracy and Arroyo. Its all part of negotiating and trying to be fair. O'Neal will give the rockets more than lowry and mcgrady this year and gives the rockets more of a chance going forward.

A trade proposal should never be journalism, especially it was from a 16 year old. I thought it was just a blog entry of a kid and it certainly did not deserved a whole thread of the b****ing from educated adults.

You keep saying this, but I can't think of a single team willing to pay $4 million for Lowry. Even if there was, I don't see Miami as one of them. So, assuming that there are teams out there willing to put down $4 mil for Lowry, why would Miami want to get rid of a serviceable big man for a 1/2 year Lowry loan and McGrady?

I never said tracy for j.o. was possible, I was just illustrating how it could work. Maybe the name and the possible return to health is worth more to miami than the rockets. I also think there will be a couple of teams this summer that see 4m for lowry as a starter. You're correct it might not be miami, but they could package him and get another player they want. Getting young assetts to package with other assets work prett well. The heat need a wing scorer unless they keep increasing the mins of wright and hope q holds up. After making this trade and waiting the days of allotment, they could package q and kyle for a near max player.

Anthony Randolph is more enticing than any of these guys, although Speights is damn good.
