I'll do that. "Amnesiac" was that good of an album for you? Really? I am only now beginning to like that album but that one was so damn impenetrable to me (a lot more than "Kid A").
I also like Amnesiac a lot more than most people I think, but it's still nowhere near the level of The Bends, Ok Computer, or Kid A in my book. Those 3 clearly stand on their own IMO. My favorites in order: 1. The Bends 2. OK Computer 3. Kid A 4. In Rainbows 5. Amnesiac 6. HTTT 7. Pablo Honey Regardless of the album, Videotape has become one of my favorite RH tracks of all time.
hell, i would go so far as to say that "faust arp" is the greatest contribution to humanity since my last ****e. really, it's that good.
i downloaded it the day it came out and its still in mine. i think it is my favorite album to come out last year. but what do i know - hail to the thief is my 2nd favorite radiohead album!
I downloaded it from their site and then re-downloaded the album when it was released in FLAC quality, and it still has not fallen out of my rotation. Simply another brilliant album by Radiohead.
Some bands just "get it." Radiohead, for the various changes in styles and sounds, always maintain a quality of etherealness and intelligence that makes it easy to like them. Very similar to U2 and REM. Plus, unlike other fans, I like the "rock" songs. How can you not like Electioneering from OK Computer or Just from The Bends? I mean, why the heck do so many Radioheads dislike Pablo Honey? That's just a great recording and I've never understood why it's always put way at the bottom of the list for most fans. OK, rant over. The new album is great, as I expected. Gladly paid $15.00 for the download.
Yeah, I think "Best Band" has to be broken down into categories such as: Best Live Band: The Who Best "Instrumentalists" Band: Rush Best Most Popular Band: The Beatles Best Alternative Band: (if that even exists): U2 Best Underrated Band: The Kinks Best "Playing Together as a Group" Band: The Heartbreakers Best Grunge Sounding Band: The Rolling Stones Best "Consistently Good on Record" Band: Led Zeppelin Best "Personal Favorite" Band: REM Best Experimental Band: Radiohead Best One-Man Band: Prince Best Backup Band: The Band Something like that.
Holy Crap! Radiohead announced their 2008 tour and they are visiting Houston (also Dallas). They haven't stated dates or venues as yet though. These are the other cities for their 2008 tour: Atlanta Boston Charlotte Chicago Cleveland Dallas Houston Indianapolis Los Angeles Miami Montreal New York Philadelphia San Diego San Francisco Santa Barbara Seattle St Louis Tampa Toronto Vancouver Washington DC
Ha, first thread that made me buy a CD. i totally did chores to it today. hard. As for the tour, when will i get to meet others with an unhealthy Rockets obsession? as long as the tickets aren't more than $15.56. then i'm my own man.
Let's hope Radiohead does the same thing with their concert tickets as they did with their new album. FREE CONCERT!!
