Didn't Harden himself say he didn't really care about All-Star, just trying to win?

I hope Kerr picks Klay. That may piss harden off to where he takes it to a whole other level from which we've already seen from him. Wishful thinking on my part but I'm desperate for anything right now given the team's current state

Does not matter who start, it matters who plays more minutes.

That vote between Kobe and Harden was a lot closer then I thought it was. I think Harden will be a starter voted in next year even with Kobe on the ballot.

Nothing about the All-Star game matters in any way. It's a useless and embarrassing exhibition that should be scrapped.

Harden doesn't need this type of slight as motivation to take his game to 'a whole other level'. He's arguably the league MVP midway through the season.

Dwight Howard on the other hand...

Yea I know James doesn't need it. What I was implying is that the team seems as if it needs it in order to even compete for a playoff series victory :(

Kobe, being Kobe, will start and play southpaw-only.

That's all BS and generic PR speech.

They all want to be all stars and starters if possible. You don't think Dwight wants to be an all star? It hurts their image and how people view them if they don't make it as an All Star. ANd you bet players have an ego and they care about all this despite what they may say to the public....

I honestly don't care if Harden starts or how many minutes he plays. The ASG is a meaningless fanfare. I just hope that James doesn't get injured and tire himself out during the all-star weekend and be ready for the second half or real basketball.

Yeah, and you can tell its not just Rockets homers voting, Dwight with only 300k ish and harden over 1mil.

Most of us were under the impressions everyone hates Harden, this at least shows that his game is respected and people want to see him play.

I think the injury puts Kerr in a bit of an uncomfortable spot. If he picks Klay, I think much of the country will accuse him of favoritism. If he picks Harden, Warrior fans will say he doesn't believe in his own guy. Given the great season they're having so far and their aspirations, I could easily see him picking Klay to add to the cachet of this team and build expectations (and viewership) for a championship run.

As much as I would like for Harden to be starter (as most of you on ClutchFans would agree with me on that), with the All-Star break extended this season (our last pre-break game is on Wed. Feb. 11 @ LAC and the first post-break game is on Fri. Feb. 20 @ DAL), I wouldn't mind if Harden got some much needed and well-deserved rest to both "recharge the batteries" and to prepare for the remainder of the regular season.

He will pick Harden since he was the next highest vote getter IMO, justification enough for anyone who questions the choice. No need to cause controversy with Harden being MVP caliber or Klay being his own player.

Agreed. I think this is an easy decision for Kerr. Run the offense through Curry then bring in Klay and run the offense through him. Win-win-win.

I would rather Harden not start and feel snubbed. He can use that motivation to win the championship i.e. when Dream was snubbed for the MVP and proceeded to rape David Robinson.

how about Kerr not be a douchebag? Klay is a fantastic young player but he's basically a borderline all star... James Harden has been the first half MVP.

Yeah, it SHOULD be Harden based on talent/merit.

Funny listening to the ESPN NBA podcast today and they seemed to agree that Kerr should pick Klay, that it would be the right choice to start the splash brothers and that no one would have a problem with it.

Although the "hate hard" genius did say that it might be smart to place the chip on Klays shoulder by picking Harden and hope that it makes him play even better for the rest of the season.

    Gotta love ESPNs basketball guys.

Hey man, Kerr's his coach. He's just putting his guy in the best position to succeed. Nothing wrong there.

I say play one on one. Let's see that ALL LEAGUE DEFENSE stop Harden.
